Installed my pcIII today

Install wasn't too bad. I did remove the fuel tank just to make it easier and I completely removed the air box.
Installed the pcIII in the storage area under the passenger seat and routed cable harness down the left side of the bike (if you were sitting on the bike).

I wasn't sure or if it even mattered which set of wires looped each injector so I just plugged them in from the pcIII in consecutive order from left to right.

Then I used the tap and tapped the lower harness plug on the tps (yellow) wire.

When I first connected everything back the bike ran like shit and wouldn't idle.

I had the two wiring plugs on the tps reversed. Got that fixed and all is good.

I loaded a map that Zxray gave me for my setup.

Haven't got to ride the bike yet. It will be Saturday for that.
I will let everyone know how it goes.

I thought about getting the ignition module from Dynojet. Is it beneficial to alter the ignition timing on these zx6r's ?

There is a specific way to plug them in, but yes it is pretty much from left to right if you are following the cord which you put on the left side. But congrats! Hope it runs well, mine gave me some problems at first but I fixed it! Remember, sometimes it takes 10-25 miles for the ECM to adjust, mine did at least.

It's my dyno tuned map I gave to him because he is going with a similar setup.

I have K&N, Akra slip on, gutted cat and the smog crap removed with plates installed on the valve cover.

The jumper mod doesn't matter because all it does is return the ignition advance back to normal after 12,000 rpm and up. They retard the ignition timing in the factory because of the exhaust valve restricting the exhaust at higher rpm's. It has nothing to do with fuel delivery.

My smog stuff is still there except for a gutted cat and gutted stock muffler.
I did have a dead spot around 40-50% part throttle with the map you gave me.
It screamed on top end and idled good.

I didn't have my wideband in the tailpipe to tell if it was lean or rich on my bike.
It felt lean Maybe? I am not sure.

I loaded the "akra full system map for 07-08 zx6r" and it took care of the part throttle issue but I felt like a lost some on top.

I will play around with it and let you know.

It does sound just like an expensive slip on except you still have all the heavy weight from the factory pieces. I am happy with the sound and the bike "feels" like it runs better. Maybe it does.....Maybe not, but I like it. Exhaust would have to flow better without the cat, butterfly valve, muffler baffles that caused reverse flow in the muffler.

Muffler is straight through now.
