need some help please

i have a 97 zx6r 23000 miles the last couple weeks as i have been riding the bike sputters at about 5000rpm and doesnt stop till about 8000. so i parked the bike a decided to go through it and find out whats making this happen. so i was going to start by checking the plugs i pull the #1 plug wire off then i drop the damn socket down inside the plug hole. ive tried everything magnets, tape, screwdrivers whatever i can find and its still there, any help?
this was about a week ago now i have the top of the motor and the cam cover off to try and get closer to the socket any ideas you can think of please ill try anything

Anyway to get a small mirror in there to look around? Something like what a dentist would use.

try a wire hanger....like you would if you locked your keys in the car....make a hook at the end and go fish....just an idea.....good luck

gorilla tape balled up on the end of a hooked coat hanger, or a universal joint on 3 inch extension and get it to pop on
