new to zxForum/Motorcycle world

hey, im 18 yrs old and i just got a 05 zx-6r as a first bike

and im EXCITED...as so should any motorcyclist i guess...

lately ive been looking at some mods and it makes me even more into my bike. its currently being serviced cause the dealership that sold it to me offers that opportunity so i havent ridden it yet. ive accumulated many questions though

first off...being it my first ever motorcycle..did i make a right choice?...6'1 and 220 pounds...i didnt think the 08 250r could pull me so i bought this..and i think i paid a little too much but the guy offered service and everything so i thought it was a good deal....9xxx miles for 5700...pics are down there....you be the judge

and looking to mod the headlights cause frankly..i think having brightass hids could be so much more safer since people could actually see me on my bike..so how much should i expect to pay for a kit and where should i look and is it easy to install myself?

and i really love to have a nice deep sounding exhaust..but there are soo many different kinds to look at and money is a factor...cheap with good features should be good

THANKS for any replies or comment..and please do comment me on anything...tips or anything thatll help me as a beginner motorcyclist. it could help aloooot...i just thought instead of searching around threads that i should make my own to have my own questions answered

-Hao

Since you already have frame sliders, id only do flush mounts and a fender eliminator. I am in the same boat. Just picked up the same bike....dif. color. (i weigh 135lbs) Had it for a week, and WOT still scares me. No matter what i do it lifts in the first 3 gears. Im working on corners, learing self control, and riding in general....iv been riding dirtbikes for the past 7 years, and race cars, and it still WAY different. just my .02

the zx6r is VERY hard to wheelie in the 3rd gear.
either your geared way low.
or there's a turbo.

Sweet bike. Welcome to the ZX forums although I'm a newbie here as well. I'm also a Gixxer owner but I love my 03 zx6rr!

Although not directly addressing your question on mods, etc but as a new rider, I would definitely recommending taking an MSF course at your local community college. LOTS of good info for both new and experienced riders. I am retaking the course soon and I've been riding for about 6 years.

Ride safe my man.
