fyi... if you put a slip-on on your bike, it completely eliminates your butterfly valve that the jumper mod controls. talk to dyno jet, they should have the map for an akra and a K&N

true it does eliminate the valve but im pretty sure the general consensus is that it uses European ECU specs which does change things. (+5 HP ?)

that's the first I've heard of that. I find it hard to believe that jumping a wire that controls an exhaust valve will change your mapping. Not to say that it's not true. Either way, he needs to remap it, so it doesn't matter if he's got the mod or not. I'd save my money, stick some velocity stacks in there and get it dyno tuned.I'll try to get a hold of kawasaki when I get to work tomorrow. I'll post what I find out.

well, I guess I'll be inserting my foot into my mouth now. Just got a hold of Kawasaki. The guy that I talked to believes that jumping that wire does change the mapping to euro spec, but does not change the operation of the exhaust vavle. He didn't really give me a definitive answer. oh well...

there is some detailed write ups. The EURO spec changes alot of things including the exhaust valve. I havent done it to mine because I always seem to forget when I take it apart but I think I will do it tonight if I get a chance.

I've done it to my 636 and my 07. It helps a little at top end. The over rev is much better.

i understand that this valve is not affected on the 03, but does the mapping still change in a positive effect on the 2003?

I don't think you have the valve on your bike. Not even sure that the jumper is an option either
