Angel Eyes
Hi everybody, I'm new here and I felt like saluting you all. I live in Romania and am the proud owner of a 2008 ZZR 1400, Midnight Sapphire Blue. Well, I should have her by the end of February, actually (according to my dealer). A saw over youtube a small movie ragarding a ZZR 1400 modded with 4 angel eyes on the front headlights and looking absolutely fabulous. Does anybody have any idea where can I get some from? I mean good quality, intense light... thank you in advance.
Let the good times roll :)

I checked e-bay first, but all I've found were for ZX10, ZX12.... nothing designed especially for ZX14. There's a forum user here, BlueBomber14 that has a nice avatar, exactly the way I want to customize my bike... I mean besides angel eyes, also the heart shaped LED grille.... like this http://www.zxforums.com/forums/member.php?u=2970

angel eyes
I have Angel Eyes on my 10R, but they are first generation ones.
I would suggest that if you are looking to do these, that you go with the new ones (CCFL) which IMO are way better. They are brighter, and daylight visible.
You should be able to find them on Ebay... you can also try and get in touch with the company that I received mine from (and where I'll be getting my CCFL's from). They are called Xtreme Discount Cycle and you can check their site at www.xdcycle.com
Good luck.

thank you, I will check those guys out. But still, there's an issue that troubles me: why all aftermarket producers of angel eyes are unable to make them like the guys at BMW do? I mean uninterrupted circle, without those annoying black spots.... I have heard that the BMW angel eyes are in fact two opposed mirrors, not LED or other tricks....

Check out the CCFL's... I'm sure you'll like those as much, if not better than the Bimmer's.

The angel eyes are from a company called www.CleggsInnovations.com as well as the "Micro nine LED that I installed in the intake the blue marker lights are standard LED bulbs that you can get at an auto parts store or Motosports.com The eyes come designed for the ZX14 as well as other models.
The angel eyes are made with the "annoying little black spots" on purpose to immitate the look of an Iris in an eye.
There is somebody making a continious tube type setup but I can't recall who or what colors? I'll let you know if I can find it but do a search on line you'll find them somewhere.
The Eyes are a perfect match in color to the 07 Candy Plasma blue, people freak when they see it at night it's so cool. they also come in red and green. The ones I have are not super bright but I hadn't planned on running them except after dark so They are however much brighter than the pictures make them look. The new version is supposed to be brighter but they don't look it to me? Here is a couple shots at night and in regular light. Good luck Tiger

Your bike looks absolutely beautiful! The intake LEDs look much better than the LED net I've seen on ebay.
But Clegg's website appears to be down... maybe I'll be lucky tomorrow. How did you put the angel eyes? By yourself or had professionals do it? And what about the position lights? They just have blue bulbs instead of the stock white? Or the glass is blue?
Regards!

Thanks for the comps. You can try www.Tobefast.com for the eyes thats where I ordered them from, I wasn't happy with there service personally but if you can't get them from cleggs try there, tobefast took over three weeks to get them in after they had already told me they were in stock. Anyway i installed them myself if you have a well equiped garage and now a little about low voltage electric, and your not afraid to put your headlight naceles in the oven at 175 for five minutes you can do it too. If you prefer Cleggs will install and warranty them for a year if you send them the headlight assemblies
It's not all that hard the critical part is getting the eyes set on the reflector opening without sliding it around and getting epoxy all over it. The directions say super glue in a couple places first then epoxy. I found out quickly its easier to just masking tape them in place then epoxy them on and let it set up, one step, much easier considering most superglue sucks first of all but secondly and worst, it seems to react slightly to the plastic and leave a white film around the seam that had to be chemically removed. without the glue no problem.
Also before putting the assembly back together after baking again BE SURE TO MAKE SURE THE INSIDE OF THE HEADLIGHT LENS IS SPOTLESS!! I thought mine were and after I turned on the high beams found a smudge on the glass and you can't clean it without taking it all apart again.
The intake LED is from cleggs also it is called a "micro nine" it is a board with nine miniture leds on it when I say small I mean 1/8 in. by 3/8in (MAX) and as thick as two dimes and put's out a lot of light as you can see. There are micro 3's, and other sizes. The position lights are LED direct replacements you can get at a local autoparts store or from on line at cleggs, clearalternatives, and motosports.com all carry them.

It's actually one small electronic board it's really small, it's actually smaller than your pinky fingernail and as thick as a coin. it has a small wire lead on it. I drilled a hole in the top of the air intake when I had it off putting in the eyes. The wire runs to the same circuit I ran for the angel eyes. I installed a small 3/8" toggle switch in one of the dimples in the dash panel to the left of instrument cluster that controls the eyes and the micro nine LED. Then applied a small drop or two of epoxy to the circuit board and pressed it up to the top of the air intake right in the middle- front to back, and side to side. and reinstalled the intake when I reassembled the front end.
I'll get a picture of it this weekend for you if you like.

And the LED board is invisible if you look at the bike from the front side, right? It can be viewed only if somebody will stay below the RAM air opening
