Talking Inter-galactic Sport Tourer

Okay guys...
I heard about the heat issues with the Concours and living in SW Florida I didn't need that. So, I took the badest sport bike on the planet and one-uped the Intercontinental sport tourer, at least in my opinion.

Modifications and accessories:
Zero Gravity light smoke windshield
Spiegler bar riser set-up
Renthal handlebars
Pro Grip gel grips
Techmount mount for radar detector
Escort 8500 radar detector
Wireless transmitter for radar detector to my helment
Garmin Zumo GPS
Corbin peg lowering kit (1 1/2" lower)
Concours seat
Chrome rear grab bar
New cover above tail-light to accomodate grab bar
Givi tubular sidecase racks
Givi PLX35 side cases
Helmet headset from J&M audio

just a question... why would you want to make one of the fastest bikes made into a touring bike... i mean to each there own im not asking to start a argument by no means but if you want a tourer why not go with the concours or the vfr or something made for that type of thing.

I'm sure there are Concours 14 drivers in Arizona, Florida, Texas and other warm states with no issues.
The heat on the Concours14 is not worse than a VFR800 that I had... driven both and found that the VFR800 dissipated more heat on the driver... didn't impede me from doing ~30,000miles every year.
The engine runs decently warm and air goes close to the passenger legs.. but nothing unbareable... i never drive my bikes w/ shorts... that's all.

Hey Dropin how did you mount the Givi's I am starting to prepeare for a ride up,or down? the East coast and would like to do something like that only if it can be removed and I don't have to alter the bike permanently. Any close ups of the mounting?
I don't want to go all touring but it would be nice to have that space on a two week trip as long as I can put her back into battle gear when it's all done.

I have a Micron system that is basically in the stock location would it be in the way?

it connects to the rear pegs, where exhausts were being held.
no other modification is needed, i think.

I have to look into it, cause im going for a long drive in july 2009. do all Canada, Alaska, west coast till California and back through GrandCanyon + Blue Mountain ridge... should be fun, but need some place for clothes.

Nice bike Diablo, I bought my ZX-14 just to replace my FJR1300 as a sports tourer, just needed to go alittle faster in my opinion

Givi Prices.

Givi does not import the cases, that is per their customer service.

He did not indicate why, but said that they were not.

Who-ever in the states that has it, please chime in with where and how much.

Thanks,
Chris

I found the V35 model for the 07 ZX14 they run 530.00 dollars and 207.00 for the mount system. A lot more than I was wanting to spend for a couple long rides over the summer I 'll find a different way

Well, In my opinion....
Putting bags and a CC14 seat on a ZX14 doesn't take anything away from the performance of the bike. The problem I have is people stretching, lowering and putting a huge-worthless tire on the back and expecting it to perform on the road.

Really only wanted the option for a those longer rides, the ZX14 is so comfrotable I found myself going far enough that I could use the extra space to take a few things along and since the 14 has enough room for a pack of gum if you chew one stick first, it's a nice option. but not for 750.00 I'll get a tank bag or stick with my old helmet bag strapped to the back seat for a day.

I certianly didn't want a permenant setup just something to bolt on and take off for a day trip or two.

I have a good sized backpack that I strap to the back for long trips along with an expandable tank bag. My problem was that I installed a fender eliminator and had to remove the hooks under the the tail, so I had a great sheet metal repairer in my battalion make some brackets with hooks for me that bolt into the rear peg mounts and run across the underside of the tail section. They work great and I'm thinking about marketing them.
They will come in handy when I ride form Texas to Utah for the world superbike race in June.

I'm wondering if I'll be ok for the 20,000kms drive i'm thinking on doing on July 2009 with simply a backpack and tankbag... and need to book a rear tire half way in the trip.
