2007 ZX-14 - Wiring Harness - HELP NEEDED

Fellas,

I'm building 2 Seater Long Travel Mini Sandrail using a salvage 2007 ZX-14 motor with 1800 miles on it that I got off e-bay from a guy on the east coast. The motor and harness appear to in great shape however we are unable to get the damn thing to turn over and creat spark! We've gone over the harness and wiring diagram to the best of our knowledge and are stuck...we did replace the Bike down sensor already since that was missing from the harness when we recieved it.

Any advice on things we may have missed if tips on how to diagnos or isolate what the problem may be. Any help or tips would be GREATLY appreciated.

sandrail

Did you find an answer to your starting problem yet. I also am building a mini buggy with a zx14. I am getting ready to set the motor in, just looking for things to avoid. I have heard that I need to use the stock gauge cluster or the motor will not run. Not sure if that is true but keep it in mind.

Not sure if this will help or not. The previous post indicated replacing a down sensor. There is also a kick stand sensor which will prevent the motor from starting if the kick stand is down. You will want to make sure the circuit is closed since the switch is not used in your application.

You may also want to check ebay and get the zx14 manual. You can find them pretty cheap there. Good luck
