The 250 tire kit will make the bike harder to lean over and obviously this will effect your lean angle and so forth. As for the winterizing I keep my bikes in a heated garage and I start them regularly and run them, and when the weather allows I take a little ride. Before I had the heated garage though I used to shut off the gas at the tank and run the bike till it runs out of gas and also drain the carbs (on my FJ1200 carbed bike) I remove the battery and put it on a trickle charger. I know people who will go so far as to fog there engine before they put it away.

To be honest I've had no trouble at all covering my bike over the winter and puttin in the battery every once in a while and running it. Others may think different but I have had zero issues doing this. Keep the battery charged in a warm place it'll last four or five seasons.

Good luck and welcome to zx forums

I live in Louisiana...the land of 100 degrees in December...only good thing is I don't have to necessarily put it up for the winter.

I am in western Canada and we don't get to ride much from now until sometime in March when the snow starts to go away. I don't do anything to winterize / store them other than to lube the chain, fill the fuel tank completely with fresh premium fuel and if the bike is not in a heated storage area make sure the antifreeze is up to the specs required for the cold temperatures. I might get out for a ride once or twice over the winter months if the weather cooperates and sometimes I may or may not start them. All in all if you are only parking the bike for a few months I think storage is unnecessary. I would view things much differently if the bike were going to be parked for a year or two and never ridden. Trickle chargers are a good thing to prolong battery life. In the spring my bikes never fail to fire right up. The worst case scenario has been I needed to charge the battery to get a bike running. To each their own, that's my winterization plan and it seems to work fine for me.

All the above sounds good, drop a few psi out of the tyres and make sure they don't stay in the same place all winter. Wheel the bike backward or foreward a couple of inches every now and again. Some say used oil can contaminate over winter so a fresh engine full of clean is a good idea.

With the rapidly deteriorating gasoline we have available today it would be a good idea to buy a bottle of Stabil and add reccomended dosage to the fuel tank (1oz. per 2 1/2 gallons). Also, for the extremist do the same with Marvel Mystery Oil as it adds a little top cylinder lube for your million dollar baby.
