Magnetic Oil Plug

Hey guys,
Do you know where I can find a magnetic oil drain plug that will fit our bikes? If you haven't seen one up close, the tip of the drain plug has a magnet on it which is designed to catch and hold any metal particles, preventing them from circulating back through the engine. It's also a quick way to see if you're making metal while doing a routine oil change.

you could probably cue that in ebay or using any online search engine, or just tell your dealer what you want and let them order it for you.

The best mag plug to use is the Honda item, as it has a large magnet, also the #17 bolt head is tall making for easy extraction. Used to use ones made from a KLR supplier but this one's head and magnet is smaller. Will do some scrounging around after work next week and try to post the supplier of the Honda plug. Seems like it was priced around 6 dollars.

Ditto what Bear said. I've been buying the Honda items on ebay for many years now.. You can try ordering from your local Honda dealer, but it's a 50/50 chance the ones that come will be magnetic. It seems both styles share the same part # at Honda

for Ebay. I see them all the time when searching for products for my ride. I did a quick Ebay search and I saw one for $9.00 (Buy it now) plus $6.00 S/H.
