Suspension advice
I want the ohlin rear shock because it has a remote pre-load adjustment but am not sure what to do about the front forks. My options are $700 to re work them with ohlins valves and springs etc (20mm) or $2000 for the ohlins rt front forks. Anyone done either of these upgrades? Thanks

I have not done either upgrade, however, GP Suspension in Portland, OR, can set you free with your front forks.

Ckecked out their site. Oregon may be a little far. Why does no one upgrade suspension on this bike? I would think that it would top the list of upgrades to do.

I'd send them to Traxxion Dynamics in GA. Had some forks rebuilt with new springs, valves, etc and are fantastic. Stock forks fully adjustable already so perfect upgrade candidate at fraction of cost of new Ohlins with, dare I say, better performance. Give 'em a call.

I've been happy with my stock suspension so far. I'm 175 lbs and have been able to adjust sag and damping to my liking.

How did you find the change? Was it worth it? I think I am leaning towards the ohlins rear shock and having an ohlins valve and spring put in the front forks versus rt forks.

I found it a major improvement over stock I cant really comment on the revalving part as mine havent been done. The place I used messed about with the shim stacks and the whole job cost me less than £200.
The shock has made the ride alot more supple I couldnt get on with the stock unit at all I think its because I weigh just over 240 lbs.

Decided on the ohlins rear shock and the ohlins valves and springs for the front forks. Will let you know how it works.

suspension
This is gonna sound REALLY ignorant okay?....I've got my suspension set up.She feels "great".My question here-what exactly does a GOOD set of forks(springs) and rear shock feel like?I've really NO comparison. My bike,as well as my zx12(gone now)and my zzr1200(also gone)all felt, well,GOOD.What am I supposed to be looking for while I'm riding?I know-sounds really stupid.Just that I really think my bike is about at the best settings it can get right now with the stock equipment. And she definitely is sharp and smooth.Any thoughts guys on this?

I just installed Race tech's Gold Valves and springs in the front forks. It's a new bike.

I haven't heard of racetech. Did you do the rear suspension as well? I am going with ohlins because thats what the suspension shop uses I guess. What did it set you back? My parts should be here this week and I am excited to see the difference.

You don't really know until you experience it. Until you ride a perfectly set up suspension that allows you to do and go where you want as you think of it, then you don't know what is possible. (i.e. What mid-corner, 1-2" potholes of missing pavement... or having to brake (or trail brake) on that shit before entering a corner hot... no problem)
I rode blown out suspension for years until I was convinced to start with the right spring rates for my weight.
Ozonekiller is right, "It's a new bike".

The Racetech stuff set me back less than $300, for compression gold valves and springs. I didn't do the rebound as that didn't seem to be an issue. I did all of th work myself. I also used the Honda synthetic fork oil. Good stuff
