Dynojet Quick Shifter?

Does anyone run one on their 14 for drag racing? I saw someone on the CBR forum that said you can wire a switch in to the PC3 expansion port. He was even using his horn button. Just press the horn button and still shift with your foot. Just curious what you guys are doing. I don't drag race enough to justify an air shifter setup, but the quick shifter idea sounds good.
Thanks

never heard of a set up like that but i do remember seeing a quick shifter that basically eleminated the use of clutch so just worry about shifting. it was also wired into the bike where it would cut the throttle for a micro second to increase the amount of power to your wheel and rid the wasted split seconds that occur when regular shifting. i cant recall the set up right now but it made dragging pretty easy just full throttle and kick the pedal and maximum output.

I run the dynojet interupt on my 14 at the strip and like it just fine, but...

the bike does really wierd shit when I use it on the street. When I unplug it the problems go away.

Of course the great (note sarcasm) customer service at Dynojet was no help.

What problems does it exhibit on the street? Do you use a pressure or linear style?

I'm not sure what you mean by pressure or linear. It's the unit that attaches to the shifter that tells the PC to interrupt the fuel injection for around 74 msec during a shift.

I'll be riding along in normal traffic and the bike will just cut out for as long as 2 or 3 seconds as if I hit the kill switch. It always seems to happen around 3500 to 3750 rpm regardless of the gear. I initially thought there was something going on with the bike itself. Then, I realized that this didn't start until after I had installed the PC and the shifter, When I unplug the shifter, voila!!, the problem goes away. I'm not sure if the problem lies in the PC or the actual device. Nothing in the setup seemed to matter. If I remember right, even when I disabled it in the programming it still did it.

At the track it all works fine, cause I'm never at that low of an RPM, but sometimes when I'm cruising back on the return road it'll do it.

I tried contacting Dynojet multiple times via internet but never got a response. Kinda disappointing.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi mate i have a dynojet quickshifter and 1 of my mates done what you are on about he used the power up connector that comes with your pcIII he looked at my quickshifter and got a length of wire and wired it into the horn and the same slots in the connector as my quickshifter if you need a pic of the connector and where the wires go let me know.
