Carbon Fiber Wheels

Hey guys anyone run the BTS wheels on their 14? What is the biggest differance between the stockers n the carbon fiber? I know the weight but how much lighter are they? Can you put 9,000 miles a year on them with no worries? Is it mostly looks? Or is it night n day?

Never tried them never known anyone with them. But the idea behind them is to lessen the rotational mass. And I would have to guess you would notice it, in acceleration and even in your braking.

I think you mean BST as in Blackstone Tech, right? Yes, night and day they say, and no, I can't afford $3500 wheels unfortunately. Strong as any out there.

Spend the 4K on some Ohlins R&t Forks and a TTX shock. Find a Ohlins tuner and get the bike set up for you.. You'll be happier. When you have another 4 thousand to spend, then get the BST's. The rims are strong as hell. I believe you can send them back to BST for repair if you happen to damage one.

If I spent $4k on wheel I would be afraid to let anyone change a tire on one fearing they would scratch them... I wonder if they would hold up to the everyday abuse a street bike will go through versus the race track? Not a lot of potholes on a race track...?

They hold up fine. Have a buddy with them on a couple of his bikes.
