Mod advice for 08 zx14
I was thinking of some winter projects and needed some input. I want to put on some ohlins but was wondering if anyone has here and liked the results. Also, I don't like the look of the stock exhaust and was wondering about opinions for the best looking slip ons. Sound and hp gains are not that important. I have changed the tires to pilot power ct and love them as well as xenon lights which are awesome. Anything I might be missing? Thanks for the help.

I forget who it is, but someone put the new Vance & Hines cans on their 14 and they looked nnniiiiiicccceee. You might want to check them out. Also, if you go that route, you may want to look into a PC.

I don't want to play with the fuel mapping at all. I am happy with the way the bike performs. Slip ons should work well with the stock mapping right?

How about some SS brake lines? I am modded up pretty good and now the only thing I want is more time to ride! lol

Sprocket changes are EZ and fun. I went in the rear and can feel the difference.
Get rid of the reflectors front and rear. Cut off that rear reflector or go with a fender eliminator.
Puig dark smoke windscreen.

I did the puig windscreen. I think I am going to do brake lines. Spiegler or Galfer? I need to decide between Vance and Hines or Akrapovic slip ons. Any opinions? I think a Sargent seat might be on the list as well. Anyone out there think heli risers are worth it? Anyone try the muzzys bonneville yet?

Just added some Bestem carbon fiber dash panels and rear hugger this afternoon. Sargent seat arrives Thursday. Look super tasty. No performance change...the 14 must be a woman as she just wanted some jewelry.
I'll post some pics this weekend.

Well, I've never had any head shake yet and push pretty hard at times. Then again, my 999 never gave me any real tank slappers until a wet track day pushing hard either then slap! Right now my GPS is mounted in the steering stem so that negates that possibility for mounting one.
I think it would be a nice mod, but not needed for me right now...drag racers maybe? Hmm....

I didn't know you could get a tail hugger. I would like to see a pic of that and the sargent seat. I ordered goodrich ss brake lines, bonneville pro, muzzy frame sliders and heli risers. Nothing installed yet. Anyone done any suspension upgrades? I might be ordering ohlin shock and forks.

Not needed on the 14. I'm not a fan of the GRP staring at me in the face. Not sure if Ohlins or similar makes one for the 14 that would be a little less obvious.

I installed the heli risers, bonneville pro, and ss brake lines. My first impression of the heli risers was a waste of time but then rode for an hour or so and noticed a nice difference. The bonneville pro works well but my speedo was dead on stock so I don,t need any adjustment, although I removed the 300mph limiter (most likely I will never need this feature but who likes to be limited). The ss lines were way nicer than stock. All in all I am very happy so far. I think I might get the throttlemeister next, it sounds nice for long trips. I need an exhaust that is quiet like stock but looks nicer, anyone tried the akrapovic slip ons with the silencer?
