So, is it just me, or is anyone else gettin' sick & tired of seeing that Progressive Insurance-peddling chick on every thread of every MC forum on the web?

I don't remember, which is another way of saying not much. I think it's like seven or eight bucks a year, or a one time fee for life of... a little bit more. I still have one little banner add at the top, but I don't mind it.

 That's b/c you're using Internet Explorer. At first I didn't know what you were talking about, because my Internet browser blocks ads. If you're truly sick of her, try installing Mozilla Firefox, then add the AdBlock Plus add-in.
Just remember that ZXforums depends on their hit ad revenue. Blocking all ads for the site lowers their revenue.
AdBlock Plus is customizable, but since Progressive's ad has some internal relevance here it will be difficult to block just it. You can block single page ads or ad for the entire site. Maybe some tinkering will prove worth your while.
