I don't know about that cuz the damn low beam still works only when it wants to. I've bent the plug connection on the last plug I have left and still nothing. But if you turn the bike on n off they come on.

Okay DEK-good post there.Mine were doing exactly that. However,I didn't get the relay. They are reliable at this time. But "occassionally" one will refuse to light at startup. Not often enough to worry about. But good to know about that relay harness.I may get a couple next year?Probably Kawasaki used some thinner wiring at some point in the manufacturing process.Could be?The Xentech's I first used were at first fine-then they started doing the "not lighting" deal-regularly.Got those out and replaced with the DDM's.Much much better-so the wiring in the different companies' products MAY be somewhat lacking-and not the Kawasaki wiring at all.

Well I just ordered a set from DDM last night but I didn't order the harness. Hopefully I wont need it. Just by what they said there on the site I think if I had or have trouble with mine not coming on all the time I'll probably try the harness myself.

Hey DEK-MAKE SURE YOU NOTICE WHICH BULBS COME OUT OF WHICH BOX-maybe even tag them on the wiring lead-H9's-HIGH BEAM.Some guys are having problems identifying which bulbs are highs, and which ones are lows. There IS a difference in the socket tab length(on the bulb)-but the bulbs themselves are virtually identical looking. The box should be labeled on the outside.I just did away with all that and ordered four high beam bulbs with my sets.(been in there now a few months-working fine). If I were you-I'd let the bulb stay ON for several minutes when you first start your lamps.Even if you install like one at a time, and check to see if it's lighting.Let it burn in some. You'll probably want to check each one anyway BEFORE you actually install INTO the lens-to make sure your grounds and connections are correct. If it lights up-the ground IS correct. If it doesn't come on immediately, but then does come on with restart, the ground is fine.IT WILL NOT LIGHT AT ALL IF THE GROUND IS BACKWARDS.Once it comes on-leave it on for a bit.Don't just shut it off.Let it come on to it's peak output at least...several minutes. And DON'T touch the bulbs-not even once. Those plastic connectors can be a real problem as well. You MAY have to remove the plastic plug cover and install the leads straight into the factory connectors.Just a heads up on that so you don't freak out and start throwing things!!!!

Guy's I think I'm going to try the harness... These lights work great but are just very unreliable and you never know if they are on or not unless you get off the bike and look. Do you guys know if you need one harness per light or one for all the lights? You know what weird....Both left side lights work all the time it’s only the right side that don't. And some times it’s the low and other times it’s the high.

why dont you try switching the ballast from the left to the right and see if the problem moves to the right side. If it does you'll know then that the problem is in the ballast. If not it's probably a bad connection somewhere. Just a thought.

Yes Somefun-try those harnesses-may be this is really all that's wrong with any of our lamp problems.I'll admit-checking to see if they're all on is a hassle-that's why I switched out to DDM's.So far, only had the left low beam not light up-only once.Been fine ever since that happened(couple of weeks ago).Like I said before though-I had to remove the plastic plug covers and push the bare leads into the sockets of the stock connector-then when I was sure they were coming on faithfully(after several starts and stops)I siliconed the wires in the connector there.Installed in the lens, then switched on momentarily to make sure they were lighting okay. They are working just fine since then. You might try checking that high and low connection again and make sure the leads are contacting okay.Sounds like the grounds are fine-just the connection at the factory harness to new bulb connection.Once they're lit-I would silcone them and let them dry some-then reinstall.

I would switch them in a minute if I could do it easy enough but I removed the plugs and soldered them cuz I thought the plugs were crap. I think there may be something to this harness relay deal. Because just by switching the lights on and off or high n low beam they come on. You can wiggle the plugs all day and it won't do anything. That’s why I'm sure it’s not a connection. I'm going to call DDM today and see how many harness I need for the 4 lights....Man I hope this works. I'd pay 500.00 just to know they would work all the time every time!!

undo the soldering and start from scratch for the left side... you sure it's not shorting due to the soldering ?
Mine have been working flawlessly for over 10,000 kms.

I hear you but they are all taped up over the soldering so I don't see how. When you turn on the high beams and if the right side high doesn't come on all you have to do if flick the switch once or twice and it will come on. I think they need for power to come on. Because like I said just by turning the switch on and off they come on. No shaking wires or plugs....

Well I put the harness in yesterday on the right side low beam...And.......IT WORKS! Every time I turned the bike on the low beam came on like it’s supposed to. What I didn't know is I needed two harnesses one for the low beam and one for the high beam. So I have to order one for the high and hope for the best. When I hooked it up on the high beam it came on every time. So this must be the issue...

still think it might be the soldering that makes it so that not much current goes through it and the harness compensates for it.

No I twisted all the wires real good then did it. But then I also used butt connectors while I was checking differant things. It was lack of voltage for the start up. Now everytime I turn her on the lights come right on with no hassels.
