06/07 vs 08 & newer ZX14 exhaust questions

ADMINS, please move is this is the wrong section...

I am trying to get pieces/parts together for an exhaust system. I am starting with a stock system from an '07 ZX14 (dual outlet collector) and have a number of questions and figured you guys would be the best source for all things ZX14.

If I understand correctly, the 06/07 exhaust systems use a different diameter (larger) mid-pipe since the cats are in the mufflers. My questions have to do with the muffler gaskets and how to use slip-ons for 08 and up systems.

Can anyone outline the difference in diameters? I know the PN for the muffler gaskets are different for 06/07 and 08 and up bikes, but what is the difference?!

At the end of the day, I'm trying to put a V&H CS One system on a 2007 header/collector and need to know what I have to do to make it work!

Thanks!

Allen

I have the V&S CS ones on my 08 14 and know they will not work on any 06/07 unless you make an adapter. Where the slipon joins the head pipe the diameter on a 08/09 I believe is bigger than whats on the 06/07 models, I don't know the size but I can get back to you with it later today or tomorrow.

That is why I posed the question, but I thought the slip-on mid-pipe was actually smaller than the collector on the 06-07 header just not sure by how much. My understanding was the mid-pipe was larger diameter on the earlier systems since the cats are in the mufflers as opposed on the 08 and up.

Hopefully it is an easy fix since I just ordered a CS One system. It will be part of a larger mod to my Concours converting it over to a dual system, pulling the flies and adding a PCV.
