2013 ZX14R. I may bite the bullet and buy a 14R

2013 issues????
The bike im looking at has 3800 miles on it and looks brand spanking new.
I think price is a little high at 8750.00

I do hate to part with my 08 special edition. Its been the best bike I ever had.

So what do you guys think?

(IXLR8)I don't need anti lock brakes. I don't need different modes that I will never use. If I had different modes my bike would stay in all out haul fking ass mode and never see the other two , grandpa play it safe modes. I don't need the extra 100 pounds. In fact I need to lose 20 pounds so when some fatty rolls up along side me I have about a 200 pound advantage. Other things I don't care about: I don't care if the R is 2 tenths of a second faster. For the extra expense , it should be 2 seconds faster. I like the gauge layout of the earlier models,,,,,,,PLUS they light up RED at night and look way more cool. lol

That's a beautiful bike.
You won't regret it especially when you take it for a ride.
I think that price might be good. I wouldn't sell my 2014 for that.

Not only are the cans fugly but they're heavy too.
I think I saved 28# by adding slip ons

Those are coming off immediately. Wanna keep the bike stock though, without having an ECM reflash.
Slip ons? I don't need any more power. This bike should have.........I say should have,,,,,,,more power than my current 08 which is more than enough for my style of riding. Sport touring with an occasional blast up to about 100mph. No racing, no drag strip.
But I don't know how true that is.

You think I'll notice a seat of the pants difference?

you need slip ons to remove the weight
They won't give any noticeable power, none will
You'll notice the power. And then you'll ask yourself how did you ever ride your 08.
The ride, the power, everything is better on the R
You'll also find yourself using traction control 1, Full power. It keeps you from shooting to the moon and keeps the front wheel just hovering off the ground and keeping the throttle wide open.

Hell yeah! Thats a good lookin bike! Power wise it will be night and day different than a 1st gen. The 2nd gen is worth every penny!

As far as the side fins, there is a small black allen bolt under the second fine that screws into the rubber engine cover in front of the engine. Once you take that one out, pull the rubber forward to pull it off the groove of the fin that holds it in place. The tank the back side tank shell bolt out along with the bolt for the fin. Then you will need to pull the fins out away from the bike then slide backward. If that makes any sense.

What EZ, it's so strong yet so controlled at the same time.

Definitely lose the cans, it's a weight you can feel when it's gone
