zx14 sometimes wont start

this is my first post have tried searching for a thread with the same problems but no luck. just bought a 2007 zx14 with 15k miles and there were no problems when i bought it and test rode it. but here's the problems its having now, its starts and runs fine but occasionally when you go to start it it wont start. battery is good its brand new, it has a power volts are good i crank it for a few times. no problems once running at all but when it wont start the trip meter resets to 0 and the clock gets reseted as well. its a big pain when i pull up to get gas and try to start it and i'm stuck there just cranking it over and over. any help is appreciated. has a pc3 and it is grounded good and have also tried to unplug pc3 and its still as the same problem.

What's your volt reading while running on the display?
What's your volt reading at the battery while cranking?
Check the ground wires by the battery. There are a few that bolt to the frame.
Battery might be new but if it drops below a certain volt while cranking it will reset everything and not have enough power at the ecu to start.

My '07 has 65K miles, so your new acquisition has spent some time sitting unused. 1500 miles per year is not much. chances are fuel has started to clog the injectors ans you're getting insufficient spray at the lower end of the spectrum. Try running some Techroline for a few tanks and see if it clears out and starts a little better.

It may be a pig, but it's a pig with a rocket in it's ass!

.
Agree with above - the trip meter resetting makes me think bad ground.

Ensure that the power/ground cables are securely attached to the battery, no corrosion on the terminals or wires, and check engine/frame grounds.

Good luck, sounds like something simple.
