fender brackets

Okay ROB-Here's yer picsThese are your stock zx14 brackets.Arranged the way they will be installed on your forks(the upper hole on the bracket mounts to the bottom fork attachment hole)This is how the bracket will be set to install your fender-note:this is the left side of the fender(inside shot)These are the brackets as they will look after the mod.Notice the brackets will be oriented(the "S" bend) just as they were when in stock configuration(the "ear"mounting INSIDE the fork attachment, the long part angling to the outside of the fork tube-the long part will also be SITTING DOWN AGAINST THE FORK TUBE.The fender securing bolt will go on the bottom hole of the bracket, and the other small "ear" will be bolted to the lower fork mount point(pic 2).Where you cut the other ear off, make sure you cut it virtually the same as you see in the picture of the one sitting in the fender. You can round off that little edge that's up against the plastic there(I didn't).You don't want that little piece pushing on the plastic-could probably start a crack.Use loctite. And for the upper mount hole on the fender there, reinstall your stock allen, and put a nut on the reverse side to hold it.(the cut-off ear piece works Nicely! That fender is an 08 zx10 BTW.(# 723 candy plasma blue).CheapCycleParts has them for $90.00.Good Luck Rob-glad I could help! Ride safe!! It's a very nice mod IMO-however!!!At 150 mph,my front began to feel like it was sliding on ice.I got home, and re-installed my STOCK fender. With the cut brackets(they still work for stock).I have since re-installed new stock brackets-just to have it "right". Take care-watch yer high speed front stability there!!!!!(very subtle behavior, but who knows WHAT might have happened had I NOT noticed it

Hello,
There are some pictures in this thread with the fender installed.
http://www.bikeland.org/board/viewth...D=27&TID=44526

Directions to purchase:

I do not frequent this site often, but the paypal address in that link is my email address if you need to contact me

Thanks,
Lyle

My brackets will not fit up an 08-09 fender,
They are designed for the 04-07 ZX10 fenders.
I do not sell fenders.

The fins on the fender, mirror posts, and the foreman grills as some people call them all make the ZX more stable at high speed. Testing in the wind tunnel confirmed this.

Its a good mod...bike stays cool...looks better imo...and you can push the front end against a wall or bike mount without contact with the fender. You can make the brackets yourself. All you need is some flat aluminum bar stock approx 1.5" by 6" or 7". Make sure to round off the corners by the shock. Drill 4 holes and your done. Without a template it may take a little time to get the spacing but its not difficult.

This is really only important if your attempting to join the 200 mph club at maxton or some other LSR event...

I've never had an issue with stability at high speeds. If you frequently have your 14 above the speed limit you should install a steering stablizer anyway...
