Me and a Busa in a ditch...

Hey family, just wanted to share my story from this evening with you. Took my ZX 14 out with five of my friends. I was run off the road earlier. Did okay for a minute but wet grass in the ditch doesn't offer much traction. The good news is I was able to keep my wits about myself and almost came to a stop before laying my baby down gently in the soft wet grass. I was wearing all my gear so I didn't get a scratch on me and after a quick assessment I found that the bike had no damage either. http://www.zxforums.com/forums/image...es/clap.gifThe bad news is that one of my boys on his 2008 Busa was also run off the road and followed me into the ditch. He didn't have much control and ended up T-Boning me and my bike as I was standing her up. His damage was pretty extensive to the front end and both sides. Now, my damage was cosmetic to the fairings (front to back), completely destroyed my Full 4-2-1 yosh exhaust system and broken rear brake lever and bracket. http://www.zxforums.com/forums/image...s/banghead.gif I was able to ride the bike home. I'll post the before pics. I will try to take the after pics tomorrow. I just thank God we were able to walk away from it and we all made it back home safely. I think someone here said it best... Ride it like you want to ride again.

BTW, I like my exhaust system but since I have to replace it now, what would be the best option. I am looking for performance, deep sound, and good looks of course. I would appreciate you guys giving it a voice.

Glad everyone is ok but I do have a question....if it would have been a two wheel drive pick-up truck would we not have had this problem?

No brother, wouldn't have mattered even if it was a horse and buggy, but the state trooper seemed to think it was important because the driver never stopped. That's all we could really give him on the truck but they never really looked for it. And it was red, by the way. Probably would have had the same outcome if it were blue, yellow or green. Didn't make a difference to me though, that's why I didn't even mention those details in my original post. But, if anybody sees a red four wheel drive pickup truck driving in the wrong lane in a curve, please ask him to get in his own lane.

I like the lettering on your tires. I am going to look for that on my next set of tires.

What brand?

Sorry to hear about ur mishap bro, I got cut off on the 1st of July and well wasnt as lucky as u but still very lucky to limp out of it as for my baby she only suffed minor damages mostly plastics and yes I was in full gear as well. I'm running Muzzys M-14 megaphone on my bike and the sound is just amazing deep and just right for sound. Its louder than a few freinds with 14's exhausts that have Muzzys too but I like the exhaust a lil on the loud side.

Thanks brother. I have considered the M-14 as well. Looks like I have a decision to make now. I got all of the mud off my baby and what I found was quite encouraging. The only real damage was just to the foot peg and rear brake lever and my exhaust. The rest is shallow scratches on plastic. Frame sliders work, family! Didn't even scratch the mirror.
