potential 14 owner

So I walked into my local powersports dealership to pick up my M50 from a service and noticed a black 2006 zx-14 in the used bike part of the showroom. I sarcastically told a salesman/friend about trading in my 07 zx-6r for the zx-14 and we both laughed knowing I love my track days too much. But then on my way home I thought that since I had bought my zixxer, I didnt really ride my M50 cruiser very much and that I could trade it in for the 14. Called the salesman back and asked him more about it and he told me it was a 2006 with 4700mi for $8499.
So I realize I have a bias audience here but I just thought I would get your take on my position. I love my M50 and being able to ride with cruisers and also having the zixxer to ride with rockets. But I think I would love the zx14 also. I''m not even sure if I have the credit to take on the new balance of what I owe on my M50 minus what they will give me plus the cost of the 14. Assuming the finances work out, should I part with my faithful M50 to get the 14?

You can find a BRAND NEW leftover 2007 14 for that much, shop around. I know this cause that is how much I paid for mine.

I think you would be very happy with the ZX14 but I would shop around a little bit. You can get a new left over 2007 for about the price they are selling the used 2006 for. I actually traded my 07 ZX6R in on mine and have been very happy. I do miss the ZX6R on the twisties though. That bike was awesome!

*wow, what are the odds. This topic has been up for a few hours then me and mcm actually reply at the same minute. :D

You won't be disappointed with the 14. I promise you that. But I do understand your position. I actually have three bikes now because of that same catch 22. I kept my cruiser because I love it. Have a 2003 Honda VTX 1800C. Kept my 2002 ZX 9 because my fiance rides it now. And got a 2007 ZX 14 for myself last year. Haven't been on the cruiser much since then, I admit. But my lady and I get on it occasionally to do a poker run or something like that. I think many of us still have at least a second bike. If you can afford it, I'd say keep your cruiser. That way, you still have the enjoyment of both sides of the equation. Just my opinion. Good luck. BTW the price for that used 06 you were looking at is too high unless its had significant mods already that would potentially save you money in the long run. I agree you should shop around.

I just bought a brand new 2008 ZX-14 with 0 miles on it from woods powersports in Austin Texas for $8,999. Shop around, you will find much better than the deal they are trying to give you.
