i agree orange is nice especially with the design of the color scheme provided...have to stick with the green though that is just the sickest shade of green i've ever seen...definitely buying the 09 in green!!!

i'm liking all the colors... was waiting to see if they were gonna offer black again.... and they are... but the green looks good too....
the monster thing?... don't think they need a fourth color option ... but whatever.... do like how it's says ninja on the tank rather than kawi.... wish they did that on them all...

I like the sharp lines in the grafics on the orange design, there all very good looking designs I prefer the green it's hot

I don't like the SE paint scheme, it looks like they are playing 2nd fiddle to Suzuki's busa the green one looks nice, but why not paint the lower fairing the same color too? I was expecting more originality. Still loving my beautiful black 07.

I agree the orange does hint to the Busa a lil but the grafics are sick, on the green why not keep the color matched bottom and side fins, I think it gave the bike a clener look.
About the ZX10 what were they thinking? But to make matters worse the 09 R1 looks like a bad replica of the new 10 now that's a lack of originality!

my understanding is that there is no mechanical difference between 2008 + 2009... is that correct ?
it's only paint schemes.

Now need to get the bike and a list of mods for the bike: HIDs, AngelEyes, full exhaust (thinking Micron), pc3
that'll get me started.

Monroe Motorsports has two in stock... a green one and the black/orange. The B/O one was still in their warehouse. The green one was assembled sitting in their service area.

The green is HOT!

I would buy the green in a minute!

Nothing looks different. The dealer guys said to their knowledge (they went to the show last month), there isn't any mechanical changes. I suspect there might be some ECU tweaking.

Went riding yesterday (617 miles yesterday) and saw the Special edition (Orange black) in a Montana dealership, Sucker was suweet, got me salivating over it, and I'm an all black kinda guy as a rule.

coming southbound from a town called Harlotown down to Big Timber, hit some furkin ferocious winds, so windy I was riding in a straight line leaning all the way I kid you not, very weird feeling.

I've got the 09 Orange black in my garage.

I wasn't sure before I stood next to it. A friend told me the graphics might be a little "young" for me, but I swear... I cannot stop looking at that bike!!!

The green was pretty, a little smokier than normal Kawi green, but the SE just took my breath away.

If you have a chance go take a look at these bikes in the showroom - they're both really sweet. I don't think the photos do them justice.

Dennis...congrats on the new bike!!! I agree, the burnt orange pics don't do the bike justice...U have to C 1 up close and personal! Do me a favor...read my post about the "weeping" of coolant on the underside of the water pump...then, get a paper towel or white cloth and wipe the underside of your bike's water pump....the water pump is just forward of the shifter. Let me know if you get any coolant on the paper towel. My service techs at the dealership are telling me my "weeping" is normal for a new bike...I don't think so! Thanks for checking and getting back to me on this thread or the one I posted. Rock

Yea, from what I hear, Kawasaki has this 2yrs thing going where they come out with a model, but after 2yrs they have to revise it. So only color schemes for right now, but expect a different looking ZX-14 come 2010.
