Just got my 07' ZX-14
What an amazing bike!! I picked it up with 4800mi for $7500, small scratch on the left side, but otherwise an amazing deal!!
So I left this ....
For this!
One thing i'm curious about is that cooling fan ... does it really come on when the bike is off? Sure gets hot it seems ... and it's kind of weird not having the torque immediately on tap at low rpm's, but instead you just wait for 6-7 grand when warp speed kicks in hahaha ... I am in love

Congratulations on the new toy. As for the waiting for power to kick in, just pull the secondary flies and get a pciii and you will be amazed at the amount of power you get in the lower rpm's.

Congrats on the purchase. Yes, the flies are restricting your lower RPM power. I have yet to remove mine, but I will.

on the flies, but I haven't removed mine yet either. I'm waiting till I can afford a PCIII and some slipons. As far as the fan, it will not come on when the bike is off like the 10's and yes our bikes seem to run unusually hot with people reporting the temp gauge pegging out when stopped at a light or something after any length of ride. Mine goes 1 bar below the top on a consistent basis, but never seen it go all the way to the top. But my fan always shuts off when I turn the bike off never to come on again till I fire her back up. Congrats on the new bike and welcome to the forum.

Congrats on the bike......I too have not removed the flies yet waiting for Power Commander purchase first. Have the M4 slip-ons love em the sound awsome. Want a GPR stabalizer but not sure yet that is what is holding up the PCIII hence no flies out yet . Mine runs hot too just one bar from the max I guess they just run hot maybe looking into adding an additive to the coolant.

they run really hot....some people have had them boil over in 100+ temps....never had mine do the read out warning but it reaches full bars on the gauge when its hot outside...you can get a Muzzy metal fan and run synthetic coolant if you have a problem but they all run hot in stop and go traffic

16T should be the tooth count on the front sprocket.

Fender eliminator should be your first mod, it makes this bike look so much better!

nice ride, just bought my 07 4 weeks ago, put a rock into the rad on the 5th ride. New rad $1000.00 and a COX rad guard $80.00, both are now going on at the shop. Also searched zx14 recalls and there is a new recall about thr frame cracking, worth checking out. Enough neg, it is a great ride and I know what you mean about the warp speed. I like the ease down low, makes double up riding smoother for the passenger.

Raw deal on the radiator man, i've already scheduled an appt. for the frame to be inspected under the recall, I just hope mine is good - I hate having some mechanic take everything apart though, who knows what they might fuck up in the process?
It is smooth as hell down low, but I keep wanting more torque on demand in the twisties, why should we have to ride a 1349cc at 7k to burn outta the corners?
