HID's (High Intensity Discharge) Headlamps
Ok everyone, if you have not done this mod yet, I highly recommend doing it. With HID kits becoming more and more affordable everyday, this is a most worthy appearance and performance upgrade to your 14. Also, since we obviously have projection housings the beam cutoff is perfect unlike those Busa guys who are blinding everyone with their all over the place light output. This is the kit I bought http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/55-wa...spagenameZWD1V
They're located in CT and shipped my stuff fast, had great communication, and packaging was awesome. This is also the latest and greatest 55watt as opposed to other 35watt kits and it's digital making more accurate color output and brighter light on the road. THESE ARE NOT THE CHEESY XENON GAS FILLED BLUE TINTED BULBS U CAN GUY FOR $20 I bought the 8000K kit b/c I love blue and that is the best compromise I have found for my tastes between color and most light output and I thought I had taken pictures but I can't find em now, so I will post when I get some tonight.

Is the "H11" kit the one for the ZX14? Is this the specific kit you ordered? Thanks.

HID are fine but on some the dispersion pattern is really bad.

Yes, if you don't have projection headlamps like we do, the beam cutoff is not there and light output is everywhere. Regular halogen housings are not made for HID.

It is actually illegal to use them unless you have them in a projector headlight.

I did not use slim ballasts and I was able to fit 1 on each side of the bike underneath those black covers fastened by three screws. Set them all the way back right up against the tank. Fit perfectly and the wires run along the outside of the intake tubes to the housings. No clearance issues with the forks. I'll try and get some pics up.

They are. The higher the number, the bluer and dimmer they get.

. I went with the 8K simply b/c blue is my favorite color and I like the blue hue of the 8k. I also think it happens to be the best compromise between color and light output if that's what you're going for. I would NOT recommend going any higher than 8K as you considerably loose noticeable performance in light output. 6K would be best if you want the HID look for just a slight hint of blue and most output. The 4300K being the brightest and whitest color temperature will give you the best performance on the road period. If we had a single headlamp I would say go for the 6K b/c I had the 8K on my Vulcan 2000 and it almost wasn't enough; but since we have dual headlamps the 8K will suffice. Be sure to adjust your lights too. I found that they were way too low for comfort when riding at night above 50+ mph on unlit roads.

I have the HID's on my 14 Hi & Lo beams, 35W, 6000K. The 6000K is the brightest white you can purchase. I out shine everyone i come across....it's awesome. If you use on 55w kit on the lows you are fine but should you use two 55W kits to have lo & hi you will blow your fuse all the time. The bike can not produce enough power to supply both kits on at the same time. I sell the 35W HID kits in Chicago $99.00 for a two bulb kit.
If you want to see pics on my bike send me your email and I will show you my bike with the hi & lo beams on at the same time.

Digital is muy importante..... Digital with slim ballasts are even better..... I got digital with the fat ballasts, but they still fit.
