ZX14 RWHP and TORQUE Dyno Posts
Well ladies and gentlemen I wanted to compare numbers with the rest of our forum members with specific info on performance mods, fuel and milage on the vehicles when taken to the dyno and current temperature if remembered and please no hyping on the numbers let's be real and honest.
Well I took my baby in on Wednesday to the dyno with 465 miles on the machine running pump gas 93 octane and a temp of 78 degrees, I have a full muzzys M14 megaphone exhaust system, custom mapped power comander and a BMC race filter on the bike the numbers I got were 182.7 RWHP and 110.9 TORQUE with no ram air.

While setting on the dyno there is no air being forced through the ram air unless there are fans attached to it.

192RWHP and 117 ftlbs. (without forced air) the fan was broken so we waited fifteen between pulls.Might be a couple horses to get with some forced air but that's cool.

Pulled the flies, added a BMC race filter, the full hydro formed Titanium Micron 4-2-1 system, and added the PCIII had the custom map burnt on the dyno, lowered the rear with the Yanashiki links, and stiffened the springs a tad, lowered the front end (or raised the front forks) and that's it mechanically speaking, never cracked a seal.
Not that you can believe anything other than the raw numbers on paper but the guys at Quantum Motorsports here in Dayton said that the dyno was a little conservative compared to the one at Brocks down the road here, so as I said a grain of salt and all but if that's true figure a few more ponies might be hiden in there somewhere (sounds good to me)!!

FWIW The map I'm running was dialed in at 187hp and 110 torque. Exact same setup, exhaust, flies out, air filter, elevation with a few hundred feet. I haven't been on the dyno with my bike yet. I'm waiting for my stage one kit and I'll go for the custom tune.
(Ti Force High Mount, Pipercross, Flies Out)
Give me a few weeks and we should be pushing 250 :)

I have a question which I thought I had the answer to. Does pulling the flies out generate more horse power? I thought it was just for low end power (fast) in other words it generates more power faster than with them in.

You are correct as far as I know. I have talked to a few tuners and they say that you sometimes even sacrifice a few HP to bring the torque curve up around 3-4000rpm.
