Just added M4 drag slipons. I already have a PC III, Flies out, and trying to decide on a filter. Should I go with a race or street one? Any one with a map for this set up?

07 zzr1400 w yoshi slipon pc3&flies out

My 07 managed 168rwhp w slipon pc3&flies out.
Started w. 160rwhp and gained 8hp on top plus a lot in the midrange by adding more fuel. needed to add as much as 28% some places.
The "dip" in the midrange is now gone.

However my experience is that dynos differ so that the result on one dyno cannot be directly compared to tests from another. The temperature/humidity etc. also have a huge impact on the results.

To compare two bikes they will have to be run on the same dyno within a period of one hour or so.

The dyno used to perform my test is known to be "strict" compared to others in my regions, others report that the results is 10-13% below.

The differene between a BMC and a BMC race filter is negligible, I went for the BMC race simply because it was in stock and the KN wasn't even available yet at the time. The good name filters are are pretty close and flow more than enough air for a street ride with a street tune. the reusable aspect is the biggest benefit

I did an unimpresive 165 and 99 torque with whats in my sig. But I have been around dyno's long enough to know that there is alot of differnce between them. If the rain goes away, I'll take her out to the track tonight and see what happens.

I think it's important to remember most pipes will not yield any kind of aggressive performance gains.....On my 06 Vulcan 2000 (2053cc) I went through 4 different sets of exhaust before I finally got one that gave me any real performance gain. 2 of the 3 others simply made me loose power which really pissed me off b/c with $1500 in mods I wasn't even making stock factory HP. Most pipes are for looks and sound than they are for performance and even if you do get gain it's likely only gonna be a few ponies. Believe it or not, the factory does some pretty good R&D when it comes to the breathing of our bikes and while you might get a few ponies for your $600-1500 the biggest performance gain is the loss of weight from the stock cans. I think it's funny how the litre bikes are making just as much or more (think ZX-10) hp with -352cc displacement.....good thing we still walk on them when it comes to torque....barely.....
Oh and a buddy of mine just had his brand new 08 Busa dyno'd here on what I would call a conservative dyno and he put down 170 stock ponies......

No, you aren't...there's one more...
I'haven't dynoed my '07 Zx14 bone stock...
But, when I have gone to FullMoto in Cassano Magnago for a custom map for my Micron Hydratech Serpent 4-1 (+ PcIIIusb + Ignition Module + stock air filter and 1553 miles ) we have found 160 HP before and more than 167 HP after the mapping.

I guess my numbers arn't that far off. So how is it that most of these guys are making 180hp with basically the same mods?? Somebody answer me before I go buy a Busa

It's my SAME question!!!
192RWHP it's over the wet desires of the Akashi engineers!!!Mechanical Tolerance and dynoerrors/tolerances aren't enough to explain this kind of raw-power...
But...Don't buy a Busa ...If you love bend...and brake.
Only If you are a drag-racing maniac 'BUSA IT'S THE RIGHT choice...

I think you can expect 3 or 4 HP more than mine from your Zx14r...is a 2008 model with mods that minimize mechanical power loss...

Hope nobody missed me been away for a few weeks??? Just got to go back and look at some old posts didn't mean to freak anybody out but my HP on the dyno was 182 not 192 sorry didn't see the error till now hit the wrong key on the computer.

I went from 172 before the custom map (that was with a full micron hydro system, pcIII with a generic map for a Hindle full system that came straight from Powercommander website, flies out and a BMC race filter) to 182hp. The bike was lowered with Yanashiki links but that was prior to testing.
I was wandering who was getting 192 outta there bike then I realized.... IT WAS ME!!!

Welcome back Bomber...

Now, I have bought a new Arata-Striker titanium full system with 18 inches can...
The Dynojet italian importer send to me a LeoVince map...He say that could run very well...or better than my old Micron custom map...
In October I'll bring my Zx14r over a dyno to create a new custom map...

Sounds like a good setup let us know how it does.

Just a little tid bit for anybody interested Micron is Bankrupt and out of bussiness. Dont know if that includes all of the car exhuast divisions "they make systems for Jags,Maseratti's and audi as well as a few other smaller Eurpean manufactures" I had a an issue with my header collars bending causing the header to loosen. Tried to contact them and found that out. thanks Micron

After talking to dyno jet and the guys from the shop when your at 4500ft you loose 20% of power. I guess. but that would put me at on a dyno 215hp at the wheels at sea level. We'll be taking the dyno sacramento and see how close that really is I'm a little unsure about 20% power loss.

You know u are very close at 179hp compared to the rest of us with similar mods, so 20% is kinda of a big diffrence but keep us posted on ur results from the Sacramento Dyno thanks for the input bro

turbo hp. numbers

At first only 205hp. at the wheels then some custom mapping with mr 11 race fuel then it was close to what muzzy was claiming I put out 221.6 hp. on our dynojet 250I. Im rebuilding my motor in a couple months so i'm gonna try going from 7lbs of boost to 10lbs and see what happens If it pops then i know what the limit is but i want to see what i can do with the stage 1 turbo kit from muzzy's. With the turbo kit they sent extra waste gate spring for more boost. they got a 17lb spring I'm really wanting to experiment with But i will let you guys know the out come of the 10lbs spring keeps your fingers crossed and lets kick some suzuki ass
