My 2007 ZX14 SE

Here are some pictures of my 07 ZX14. It is still pretty new, only has 430 miles on it. So far I have put on a Puig dark double bubble windscreen, fender eliminator, rear spools, Yoshimura full race exhaust w/ carbon can, speedohealer, pciii, and removed the flies. The new pipercross air filter should be here on Monday.

So, what ya think?

Personally I don't really like the look of the dual exhaust. On top of that the Single exhaust is over 30 pounds lighter. The header is much lighter than the factory header as well.

While I was at bike week last week I put my 14 on the Teresi Dyno Drag. I managed a 9.151 1/4 mile (with a terrible reaction time of 0.977). My speed was 154.30 and my hp was 183.3.

It was quite a bit of fun once I figured out what I was doing. :D

Do a search on here for secondary flies or check out this link. There are quite a few "how to's" on the web giving great tips. Make sure you run the bike for 10 - 15 minutes before doing the mod to warm up the loctite on the bolts.

Removing them makes the bike much more powerful at lower rpm's. Make sure you have a pciii before doing this mod though, you can cause damage if you run the bike for a long period of time after removing them if you don't get a map designed for the mod.

I love the windscreen. It makes riding much more enjoyable.

Also, welcome to the site.

Awesome lookin' 14 LowCel!!! I'm trying to decide between the dual Yoshi's or dual Akra's.....

Tc1, the "flies" are the secondary butterflies (even tho they are actually first in the throttle body) that Kawasaki has installed on our beasts as I understand it to help retard the timing and prevent max power in the first 4 gears so that people with absolutely zero riding experience who go purchase the largest displacement sportbike on the market don't hamster wheel it the first time they pull out of the showroom........

to Flyer i also think it was a way for Kawi to prebuild some future mods into the bike to make it easier for them to update the next years model without doing a lot of extra work.

I would recomend going one step further than just running the bike to warm up the loctite you need to heat up the tip of the screwdriver and hold it on the screws for a solid 30 seconds before attempting to loosen them

Lowcells link above is dead here is a local link on this forum for ya to Gander at hope it helps.

Thanks for adding the additional information and the link. I warmed my bike up and then used a soldering iron on the screws. I did end up having a problem with the forth screw from the left. All the rest came out relatively easy, that one took me over an hour to drill out.

Here are a couple of pictures from this past weekends ride. We did 180 miles of beautiful WV back roads. I had a blast!
