Pulling the flies.

Hey all. Call me a big girl but im still not sold on the pulling of the flies. Out here in country AUS just about every corner you come to is bumpy as hell not like your hot mix and concrete roads over there! and am worried about all that low down power being the death of me mid corner! plus i just love the smoothness of the bike, the fuel economy, and the life i get out of the tyres. There has been a huge battle going on in my head ever since i heard about this mod. I know everyone is gunna say JUST DO IT! I wanna know everyone thaughts, any info or comments would be great. SELL ME!

It doesn't make the bike some uncontralable death rocket. It does considerably improve the low and mid power but if your not really able to use it ie. dirt roads and loose tarmac I wouldn't bother I really only ride on black top and I'm your typical what else can I squeeze out of it my bike is faster than yours wrench head so I did it. Sounds like you are more or less just riding and are comfortable with the power band as is. I would leave it (you can always do it later) on the other hand take'em out and give it a try if it's to much for your taste put them back in, it's a reversible process.

I you go to do it here is a picture how to for you show you how easy it is.

I concour with bluebomber... It doesn't make the bike uncontrolable. Improvement of the low and mid power are significant but to me are still manageable/controllable. Since you are very concern about bumpy roads in your country, just leave the flys in. Some riders right hand fists tend to squeeze the throttle a bit more unintentionally upon/having greeted by road bumps and it could surprise you if you are unprepared for it hence accident prone.

Anyway, it all depends on ones self. As for me and bluebomber, we are comfortable with the flies out.

I would leave the flys in, especially if you already are comfortable using your bike at low RPMs.

Sounds good, but I just can't bring myself to do it. The problem is that you lose your warranty. With my luck, I would take em out, and the next day it would blow up.

You won't lose your warranty unless you take it in with the flies out. There really is no problem running it with the stock map and no flies it is fairly rich enough so that it won't be an issue. I rode mine that way for a couple months before I PCIII'd. But I feel your delima I felt the same way and Scavenger made me feel pretty comfortable with the idea, I did it, and no problems. But it is your peace of mind, hard to put a price or warranty on that and I got the feeling you really were hesitant simply because of the road conditions and you just plain didn't think you needed it. so sounds like you should sit on it a while.

Sorry tron got the posts mixed up it waz toyzx that didn't want to do it silly me.

In my situation, warrranty issues are at a bare minimum coz i have a very good relationship with my local bike dealer. I have all my bikes serviced at only one shop and all modifications on it are done by them. I trust them very much coz they're into racing themselves so they know what they are doing/suggesting.

Again, the bike will become a bit lean upon removing the flies but as i said earlier are still controllable and can only be rectified by using PCIII. If i were you, i'd try taking the flies out for a while, if you're not in tune with it, just put it back in. Procedures in removing them are shown in picture guides by Bluebomber (if i'm not mistaken) in previous threads. Browse thru them...
