Exclamation zx12 tire size

I picked up a mint 01 ZX12. Now I know the stock tire size is a 200, and some people go to a 190. Well, it has a 180 on it!
Does anybody go this small? How does it work?

I've only had mine for a few months and have not changed tires yet, however I've been told that the 190 is the best size tire. When purchased this summer it had HFM full exhaust, USB power commander, chrome wheels, flush mount signals, and a fender eliminator kit. I just completed the following mods: lowered 1.5 inches, MPS air shift kit with auto shift, smog pump converted to crankcase vacuum pump (please don't tell Al Gore), K&N filters REMOVED and replaced with modified OEM filters, oil and filter, plugs, new computer map to match the air mods, Shinko sticky rear tire, Shinko low profile 60 series front tire. The day these mods were completed it started to snow. I know I loved the bike to begin with so come next spring I think I'll love it even more. If you've never ridden a bike with an air shifter, I'd look into it. Its awesome and so much fun. I originally bought the Muzzy kit but returned it in favor of the MPS kit. In my opinion, the MPS kit is way better. Much simpler and well proven at the drag strip.

I liked the 200 when I had my 12R. 180 and 190 were cool for what they were, but with the power the 12R delivered, a good 200 was needed and I used all of the sides, so why would I want to take 10mm off each side when I needed it as is.

I miss the BT010's I had on my 12R. What's the best brand of 200 sized tires out there now for the 12R?

I LIKED THE 180 best on my 12. Handled nicely, almost felt as if it had lost 50 or so pounds. The 12 likes to eat tires no matter what size you use

The 12's handling is transformed by downsizing from a 200 to a 190. With a 200, the rear end feels vague when she's leaned hard obver, but with a 190 there is much more feedback and the bike handles a whole lot better.

I've been using 190s for a few years now. Same sort of life, same stability at speed but much better handling.

BT010s suit the bike well, currently on BT014s. I may try Pilot Powers next as a lot of people rate them highly.

rule of thumb is you can only go up and down 1 size from stock I have all ways ran 190 on my zx12's with no prob but different tire brands have different tire profiles
