Some problems from a newbie

Hi...I just got my 12 a few weeks ago. This is my first bike, and i love it. However, my 12 is not going smooth in the first 2 gears. I have riden 1320 miles without oil change after I purchased it. Could that be the cause? I don't have an owner manual (it's a 2002 used bike) Any suggestion on the maintainance? Thanks.

Hi.What do you mean "not going smooth"?
Is it fall out from gear or?

Adjust your clutch lever and change you engine oil.Use half sintetic oil 15w50.It will be much better.Check chain slack and adjust it.

My ZX12 chugs at low rpms and I think this affects the gear changes. It seems to shift smoother at higher rpm's (say 5000 or up) and shifts harder at low rpm's (say under 3500). I always try to run the rpm's up a little before I shift. Seems to work for me.

Wow! Thanks guys. I didn't expect to get reply this fast. Yes, it is sort of chugging at the low RPM. And I also feel the bike goes smooth when the RPM reved. Is that normal for bikes?
I just picked up my bike stand, and gotta oil change it this weekend.

Zx-12R will chug if only exhaust can is replace and the mainfold is original.Change the whole exhaust and you will solve the problem.I did have this problem but when i change the complete exhaust ,it is gone.
Take care.

Yea...that's right. My end pipe is a slip-on akrapovic(don't know if i spell it right-the scorpion icon on the pipe.) The ex-owner did it. But I can't tell the mainfold is stock or not.
