Ok thats a bit spooky coz i sold an XJR1300 to buy my 12 last year!

The 12 is VERY different, the 13 is like a sofa in comparison!

She'll sit up higher and have less seat to perch her arse on - also be warned, my missus is able to see the speedo on the 12 and my ribs get a right battering when we get a bit of speed on.

Whereabouts in Uk are you?

hiya I'm in Gloucester . I conscious that the missis does'nt perch on the bike, like they do on the an R1. ShIts more her knees and whther she'll have her legs over her face like most sport bikes?

Gloucester? I'm only in Kidderminster so not too far away at all.

Has she sat on the back of one in a shop to check it out? If your stuck to find one and are passing this way anytime your welcome to drop by and have a sit on mine.

She's only been out on it a couple of times as we have a 2 y/o daughter and don't get much time to go out together on the bike.

She didn't feel nearly as comfortable on it as she did on the XJR but wasn't completely cramped up.

They're way better than any of the litre sportsbikes but not as good as the blackbird, ZZR14 etc

Make sure you get the grabrail as well, it really didn't help that i haven't got one yet!

I got a 2001 A2 model in Silver, bog standard with 15k miles and history for 2800 last year, prices seem to have gone up since then so yours prob isn't too far away

Ok thanks. Cool picture.I've just past that kiddy stage mine are 8 and 12, well splitting up with the ex has helped me get more riding in ha ha Last bike I had was a zx7r but that a wee bit too much for a pillion . Now having the XJR is good but I want to go in between and have got me eyes on one.

They are an absolutely ridiculous amount of fun and handle way better than you would expect for the size. They're a physically big bike and suit the larger (ahem) person!

The throttle is addictive and the rush from full throttle in 2nd and 3rd gears is intense.

On the downside -from what i remeber of 7R's i wouldn't say they are very different from the ZX7R's pillion seat. I had a B3 ZX9R and the 12 is similar to that aswell.

ye sounds good i come from the era of big heavy bikes GS1000's and Z900 so the weight gives me more confidence. I bet they fly < I'll have to get the missis to sit on one dam quick as I don't want to lose this one.

My wife loves the comfort of the ZX-12R hands down. She thinks it is leaps and bounds in comfort over my CBR900RR and my TL1000R. It is nothing like a typical rocket like the R1 which is essentially a pad the size of a credit card for the passenger.

The ZX-12R is good to go for the passenger.

Yes and bought it! however it broke down on the way back even with new battery. The delear was very apologetic and picked me up and has it in his work shop. Suspect bad wiring or alternator?

Hi yes worse as I've fallen in luv with it. Just past the second severn bridge into UK the digi display disappeared then the rev count stuck at 4 and mph at 70. Stopped left it for a bit turned the lights off and pressed the starter. You could hear the battery trying to fire it up but not enough juice.

Unsure if ZX12's have alternator probs that are historic????

Not heard of any probs with the alternators on the 12's....

Easy enough for the dealer to check it out though - stick a boost pack on, fire it up and put a meter on it....

Could just be a duff connection from when they changed the battery.

That's good news - you got some great weather for a play too!

If you're around next weekend and the weather gods are kind to us do you fancy a coffee at the Cafe at Quatt?
