Paint...what am I looking at?

Figured someone here must have done something like this before...just wondering what about I could expect to pay.

I bought my ZX12R and the rear "Ninja" side stickers and tank stickers were a bit scratched and peeling, so I took them off. The paint under the stickers is a little brighter than the surrounding paint (expected, I guess). Well, I'm considering either just having the tank cover and tail fender piece (the "U" shaped piece) painted to match the rest of the bike, which I'm not entirely sure is even possible because they would have to match the faded paint. The other option is to repaint all of the painted bodywork.

So anyone have any idea of what a shop would charge to paint those two pieces and/or all of the painted pieces on an '03 ZX12R? Nothing custom or anything like that...just a normal paint job, solid color.

I've seen shops do solid color jobs for $250-300 if all the prep work is done beforehand. Which is the way to go if you can. If you do all of the sanding and any patch/repair work for them then the time they have to spend on it is more than cut if half. They do a little basic prep work and spray away. I used to paint bikes on the side and 80% of my time was spent doing prep work...which means 65% of the money I charged was for sanding and filling.

Any good writeups on what to do/use? I'm fine with doing that...I'm thinking about doing this during the winter months anyway, when I won't be able to ride (time not really an issue). There isn't any damage or anything, just a couple of spots of slightly less faded paint surrounded by slightly darker paint.
