bike seems to be surging

Hi i have just joined this zx12r forum as i have just got one so big hi to all.

had lots of big bikes and im just selling my much loved zzr11.

now i do have a little query on my 02 12r and its hopefully not fit a pc mate fix as the bike is standard and im getting board with spending a fortune chasing an odd bhp plus there is a credit crunch.

its surging at around 3.5k to 5.5k when at a constant throttle.

the air filters were washed and are clean it seems to run better with the filters oil free as there the cloth type (which i believe you apply oil to) so it may be worth getting paper one's any advice please.

i checked the throttle valves too and they were spot on.

i have binned the pair system and it now ticks over better.

so that's where im at so any suggestions would be much appreciated.

sorry to ask for advice on first post as im quite experienced on sorting bikes but unsure with this model as its E.F.I and im not familiar with kwak efi.

thanks

lon

Hi

I've got an 01 and have what may be the same issue - i find it tricky to hold the bike on a "neutral" throttle ie not accelerating nor slowing down either. The fuel injection doesn't seem to like this much and seems to switch in and out quite abruptly.

I get around it by accelerating more!!!!

had a quick word with kawasaki uk today to check my exact model as its on 02 plate but its a k1 01 and the fellow said this is normal with this model.

so ordered a pc3usb so that should sort it.

the accelerating works a treat
