Brand New

I saw where there is a brand new still in the Crate ZX12R listed on Cycle Trader. Once in a lifetime opportunity.

A lot closer to you.
Who keeps a bike in a crate for 16 years?

Bikes like this are interesting. If you do buy it what do you do with it and exactly how much is it worth?

If you buy it and ride it, why not simply purchase a low km machine for less.

If you buy it and store it, why? it isn't a rare machine by collector standards. n.b. I think these bikes are awesome and am by no means dogging them.

I agree.
Be fun to say you have a zero mile zx12 in a crate
Tires are junk. Motor probably never turned over in 16 years.
Who knows what else for sitting so long
Now if it was a 7.....

The owner and I have been friends for 25-30 years. It is exactly what is claimed. He received it in the crate from Kawasaki as it sits. He's never touched it other than to look at it the same way it's exposed in these photos.

He has MANY bikes. He acquired and saved that one to keep it in the crate. He never intended to pull it out and ride it.

I didn't know you could buy crated machines. Normally the dealer wants their pound of flesh for assembly, set-up etc. Wonder if the warranty is still good?

It may be a pig, but it's a pig with a rocket in it's ass!

I just picked up an 01 ZX-12R with less than 9k miles off Craiglist for 2800.00. Pristine, all OEM. Divorce settlement and she wanted it gone. I took great advantage.

LOL, I am in the TX/NM badlands between the 2 states. Lots of long open highways just begging to be ridden by a machine such as this fine behemoth of pure muscle and power.

But I'd take one million dollars for her... Kidding.

I have seen similar models with higher mileage listed at 5k - 7k in the bigger cities. Here, she was one the cheap because high plains cowboys don't know the value of good motorcycles. That and the lady selling her wanted her gone ASAP -- and I came cash in hand at the right time. Craigslist does have its gems.
