2000 ZX12r

Hello everyone, my name is Steve. I've been on this forum before under the ZX11 section (1990 zx11). I just picked up a 2000 zx12r (silver) with 16,000 kms / 10,000 miles for a good price from a buddy. He's had for 12 yrs, laid it down on the left side 6 yrs ago. He brought it to a shop to have it looked over...only cosmetic damage. He never fixed it up, rode up & down the ally a couple times a year that's it.
Since it has such low millage my goal is to bring back to stock condition.

A list of parts I'll need: signals front & rear, mirrors, heel guards, chain guard, rear fender, l/h passenger peg & mount, l/h foot shifter & front fender.

Fleabay is your friend.

It may be a pig, but it's a pig with a rocket in it's ass!

As HH suggests, keep an eye on FleaBay. Although, I hated the stock front blinkers on my 2001 12r.
I replaced them with Proton blinkers. They are not $20 cheapos from China that break when you try to tighten them.

They are solid, well built and look way better than stock.

I found a rear fender assy with tail light, signals & reflectors attached on ebay for $69 but the guy won't give me a shipping quote to Canada. I bought a new front fender (silver) & levers, should be here in a week.
I found the paint code for the silver:Phantom silver-927685 2000,2001. I was wondering what the paint code for the bottom of the side fairings would be....kind of looks blue grey. Also the color of the rims.

Go here http://www.colorrite.com/ and fill in the details of your bike and it'll give you the right codes/paint.
Although, I looked and your Phantom Silver was only on the 2001 model not the 2000

Thanks Rick, I took a look at zx14 mirrors and they are cheaper than zx12 mirrors and do look better. I ordered a set today.

That's what I said above... Your color only shows up on the 2001 model.

I wonder if your your bike has been sprayed before?

The bike is the original colour. I did some research and found out the 2000 zx12r wasn't offered in the US in silver. In Canada it was. The silver was brought in to the US in 2001.

Completely different. You may get a ZZR 1200 engine to fit, but the ZX12R is similar to ZX-14.
