No one gives the 12 props!!!

I had a person ask me what I ride. I told him a ZX 12 (once I get through the salvage issue) He responded " I have a friend that has a busa. could you imagine how much power that busa has?" I was going to explain at that point that the ZX 12 was in the same class. But I decided that it would be a waste of time and I would sound like I'm trying to one up etc... So I decided to just move on.

But it did make me think of how the 12 never really got it's props! It was in 2000 the most powerful bike. But edged only by less then 5 MPH for the worlds fastest. I've rode mine one a few times and I'm amazed at it's agility for it's size. But still it does not get it's props. Now even more so since the ZX 14 take over.

I have to say in terms of looks! I agree but in terms of reputation of top speed bikes it seems no one remembers it since the intro of the 14! I know that once the company makes a step up the old becomes obsolete. But in this case the old 12 is still very competitive and in fact has it's advantages!

Still the best-looking motorcycle ever produced. And the source of power for the real World's Fastest Motorcycle; The E-Z Hook Streamliner.

my Dad has a 12, for some reason, they didn't get as much attention as the Busas did. It was probably a marketing failure on Kawi's part...

If I had the chance and the money I would get a 12 (not complaining about my 14 hehehe) but hell yeah the 12 is a f*cking badass, both performance and looks. I remember when I had the 636, my buddy on his 12 would let me rip ahead and then pass me like I was standing still, doing 120 on the highway. BTW, anybody know where to find a cheap rear caliper for a 12?

Talking speek softly and carry a big stick..

at first glance you might not get props.. I have a 01 custom paint. not loud just candy black pearl purple overlay.. Not many said much or even knew what it was at first. I joked around and said it was a 6oo lol some of the local fools even bought that.. after being beat down they caught on, that it was not a 600.. I burned down 2 gxsr1000 3 busas and a 08 cbr 900r all in one night.. I let the losers of said bikes do the talking for me.. I never once said it was fast.. I just SHOWED it.. and after that I had the people I have roasted talking for me.. its funny to hear one guy tell another dont race that guy on the that kaw over there he will take you out. I rode off that night on a 2nd gear power wheelie and shifted into 3rd for good measure. I guess you get props when you show what your working with..

I take my hat off to all 12'z and their pilots as they are the foundation for Kawi's supersport bike department from the all years of drag racing, reserch and beating the sh!t out of all the liter bikes and Hayabusa's alike without the 12'z there would be no 14'z!!!
