New Bike, New Blog

Hello all!

2 months ago I bought a 1991 ZX11 with 31,900 miles for $2800. As far as I can tell, the previous owner took really good care of the bike and it is in good condition. He just put a new paint job on the bike before selling it to me (hence the windshield not on in the pictures.) I'm not sure what kind of mods he has done (aside from a custom paint job and NOS kit) so there is a lot to learn this winter when I work on it. I have been riding for 4 years on my sister's Kawasaki 250. I never had to do any maintenance on my vehicles before as my dad is a mechanic. However I gotta learn sometime!

I've been browsing the forums for a while now looking for general tips to keep my new bike in good condition.

I also am going to keep a blog of my adventures and maintenance, so check it out if you have the time!

You'll love the 11.

You can pick up an owner's manual on EBAY. That manual will outline the Kawasaki service requirements and service mileage intervals. The factory service manual comes in two volumes:

Vol 1: Kawasaki ZX-10 "MOTORCYCLE SERVICE MANUAL"
Vol 2: Kawasaki ZX-11/ZZ-R1100 "MOTORCYCLE SERVICE MANUAL SUPPLEMENT

Because the ZX 10 was the base motorcycle it is the Vol 1 main manual, Volume 2 covers all the ZX-11 specifications. For winter parking Seafoam is a gasoline tank additive to keep the gas clean.

Ride safe, you have a fast m/c that will always surprise you.
