What is High Mileage on a Well-Maintained ZX-11?
Real world, what is high mileage on a Zx-11? And about when should I expect 2nd gear to go south.
I have 29,500 Miles. Non-synthetic oil, filter changed every 2000+- miles, valves/carbs adjusted every 7000+-. Around 7500 miles I installed a Mr. Turbo-Pan. EBC brakes/discs, Galfer lines etc.
I have taken it on several 1500-2500 mile fast rides. I did a 95-130 MPH 5K loop into Mexico. I have been on many 300 mile, high RPM, runs on at speed at whatever the road conditions permitted. Most weekends I'm on one of those backroad rides.
Never overheated or been run less then 2/3 of a quart low. I would like to keep the bike and continue riding like I do. But everything has a limit.
How much life is there in a 11?

If you treat it right, it will last forever. I have seen bikes hit 100,000 before.

New Here
Hey Guys, New here and I have read a bunch of stuff that has already helped me out.
As far as High Mileage go's I think a Bike will last just as long as a car if taken care of.
I have had every Kawasaki super bike you can name over my 52 years here and I think the ZX 1100 was the best or very close to it.
I just bought my 1991 ZX 1100 about a year and a half ago and it only had 5K on it and it was in showroom condition, it now has 22K on it and runs like new.
I still don't know why I go through a set of brake pads in around 5k and I have already gone through a set of tires(All Highway, 80-90 mph) and I may need another set again.
My 1000R Ninja had 19K on it and the brakes were never changed nor the tires???
Looking forward to changing Info here.

Northern California roads: I have 12K miles on a set of EBC Rotors and just replaced the HH Pads at 10K. I run 300 mile twisty and high speed runs twice a month and just completed a 2K to Oregon, Utah & Nevada, ran the bike 5 K into Mexico and the brakes are awesome.
IMHO: Shit can your stock rotors, run HH pads and install galfer steel lines. Tires: I just put 2500 miles on Michelin Power Point 2cts and they are awesome. Come up North for a trip and we'll scrub the tires in.

I am 52 years old and the front stays on the road most of the time these days. I can tell you that Vipers are not as fast as I thought!
I got my bike up to 167 at the Auto Club Speedway on the track in shorts and tennis shoes, not smart at any age! still had plenty to go but I just had to shut it down as I could see my life flash! before my eyes "Literally" and I would like to see my Grand kids grow up if ya know what I mean....
Looks like I may be picking up a 1992 ZX1100 for my son, It's a fixer upper, It Runs and all the plastic and parts are there just needs paint,Service, Tires and maybe a tank ( Rust) so if I can get it for 1K I may pick it up and sink another $1,500 into it to get it looking and running nice.

I'd pass on a ZX-11 project. Nice lower mileage ZX-11s come on Craigslist all the time in the $2500.00+- price range. Why work on it when you can ride it.

That's what I told my son but if we get it going we know what went into it and whats good -not good.
I have looked around for a ZX 1100 and that is about the bottom price $2,500 for one running kinda good but every one I have seen the plastic is cracked or gone and they have been sitting out in the sun for years so they have all the same problems as the one for 1K.
I can do the brakes and I found a good deal on a tank($150 no rust or dings) and I found a good deal on some z rated tires from full bore ( $180 set),Paint??? that's a good Question.
The bike is showing 9K on the odometer.
