Lean Angle

I am trying to find the fail safe (front end won't wash out) lean angle on the
'11.

In the San Francisco Bay Area, along the coast and inland we have thousands of miles of fast twisties and hyper fast sweepeers (130+), the speed is way up and the lean angle question is vexing me.

All things being equal, can the bike be leaned over until the pegs scape w/out losing tire contact with the road?

Thanks,

Eric

Safest place to do that is at the track.

Many riders have lowsided trying to find the maximum lean angle with their bike. You could find a nice corner without too much traffic and practice over and over until you started sliding a little or your footpeg touched down. Check those chicken strips after a few runs thru the corner. The rears will be gone 1st. If the front strips are gone before you touch down the peg, Don't lean any farther !!

do you have those little feelers on you pegs that touch down before the end of the peg does? Do you have some track pants with knee pucks? That's the best way to do it.

It can, but a lot depends on tires, road conditions, speed, gear selection etc. I know a guy who drags his toe sliders on a ZZR 12 like mine with his feet tucked in as far as possible. His peg feelers are long gone and are not replaced due to the fact they would not last very long anyway. Personally, I prefer a little more margin of safety, but if you have the skills, dragging hard parts on the ZX-11 isn't impossible.
