zx11 Myths and the real deal

Having never bought a zx-11 new I would like some real honest info on these bikes.

With stock gearing can a zx pull the front wheel off the ground on the freeway at say 55 mph.

If you change the gears will it do it?

All my bikes that I have had could not do this but they where never perfect zx11's.

it's a heavy bike to hoist. in 1st gear at 5K, i imagine it would lift the front easily, perhaps also in 2nd. In 3rd you may have to use the clutch.

One things for sure. Make sure you land her right! because of the weight involved, the forks can bottom out easily if you land it unsympathetically.

When I had stock gearing on mine it would easily loft the front wheel in first as i approached 9-10,000rpm, and second it would get light. I now have -1/+2 gearing and it will lift the front wheel in first and second with not much effort, but he is right about the wieght, powering the front wheel up and slowely backing off to set it down (even though not the safest riding practice) is ok, but be weary of hard landings as the forks will bottom and you can blow the seals easily. Ride smart and stay safe!!

I use my husaburg dirt bike if I want to wheel it up. Besides ZX-11's spin bearings if you wheelie them.
