Thumbs up I can use some help here!!!

Hello to my riders. I have a 2001 ZX 11D, and haven't been riding in over a year. I had my brother to drop on a side, due to a drunk driver pulling up to a light with him already there, and he jumped off and the story should end there. The insurance paid for all the damaged parts. The problem was that the new parts now didn't go with the older parts, and the insurance didn't want to pay for a repaint. So I had to put about a grand into a great paint job. I will be posting pic's soon. Now I have had the parts off and painted since Nov of 2007. I started to put everything into place, and I had to order a new battery, because when I tried to start it I couldn't. Had to replace a fuse, and I got the power up and she started to turn. Now the problem is, I can't get it to run. Before I took it down I just had a major service job put on it, so it's on top of its game. Now I will admit I'm no expert here. I went and made sure all hoses are where they should be. I put about 3 gal of fuel into the tank. Now the tank isn't full. Is this a problem? I spray carb cleaner into the opening, and she fire right up, but only until the cleaner burns off. I don't think she's getting the fuel somewhere. Now please tell me if I'm wrong. I replace a bad hose(the hose that goes from the tail end on the tank, I ran it from there right into the same place under the tank. Is this right? I have a hose coming from the right and left side of the carburetor running down the bike, and those hoses are sealed off. The ram air is into where they should be. Now when I took the (hose that ran from the tail end of the tank under the tank intake, I notice there was no gas coming out of either hose, should this be? If gas is in that area inside the tank whether it's enough gas in the tank or not, shouldn't gas run out either of those openings? Also I took off the hose that goes into the reserve switch there is 2 hoses there. When I took off the hose there, there was now gas coming out either. When I opened the gas cap, the gas hasn't reach this unit. Should I fill the tank completely up? What can be my problem here. Thanks with you replies and help. Please ride safely.

Thumbs down Checking the gas???

Hello. As in an earlier post, I need to check to make sure my tank to carbarator is hooked up correctly. How do I do this, because I have something wrong. I put in Carb cleaner, and she fire up. After it burns off that's it. Something isn't getting the gas somewhere. I need help before going to the high paying dealer in my area. Thanks for any replies.

Here is a link to a shop manual. It should help you out.

I would suggest that you save this to your computer or a cd/dvd.

If your bike has a carbon vapor canister, it could be flooded from the spill. Other than that check the fuel pump.
