Motorcycle.com Rides the ZX-10R
Hey guys,
We are proud to say we have the world's first ride and review of the 2008 Kawasaki ZX-10R. We flew to Qatar to ride it and came back with photos, videos, and the world's first review.
We would love to hear your feedback on the article and we will be watching this thread to hear your thoughts so we can tweak our own writing in the future.
Full Review: 2008 Kawasaki ZX-10R Review
Also, if you didn't catch our tech preview of the ZX-10R that was posted a few days ago, have a look here:

Thanks and we look forward to your feedback!

You said:One aspect to the bike’s personality that seems to have a differing opinions is its appearance. It’s no doubt a big improvement over the previous chunky version, although it doesn’t appeal to all.

Sorry but it doesn't "appeal" to me either... Too much like a street bike...

Nice write-up! I'm super jealous of you guys getting to ride that thing, and at Losail no less... dogs!
As for the new ZX-10R, as with everybike regarding it's looks, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. However, I personally have always prefered to let feel and performance control which bike I end up riding (for a given purpose that is). And if this new ZX-10R is as wicked as they say it is, I think that factor would control my choice MUCH before how it looks (or doesn't look); to me, that kinda talk should be left for women shopping for shoes, not men who are looking to REALLY ride performance motorcycles.

The new 10r will dethrone the gixxer 1k in all the mags comparison tests this year...how can it not?

awesome right up guys but the video left alot to be desired between the unconvincing commetary and the deafening background noise.
I have been very vocal about the bikes looks and I would still rather ride a crack whore than have that styling as my ride . As for the bulky feeling, that is one of the main reasons for me choosing the 10. Before I rode and subsequently brought the 10 I was dead set on a R1 for the wide feeling. I cant stand the narrow anorexic feeling of the Gixxer and blade.
I will say however that the 08 10's power is definitely something to desire.

It may as the performance gap wasn't that large between the 07 ZX and Gixxer. However...I think the CBR will surprise a lot of people. I actually like the looks of the CBR over the ZX. I think the CBR is the only bike saying it lost weight from last year. The ZX has gained lbs.
Anyway....I hope somebody punches the Gixxer right in the mouth. I'm sooooo sick of hearing all the mags slobber over themselves over it.

I love my 06 because of the wide feeling. It's light and nimble, yet not narrow. BLECH!

I like the look of the 08 but not enough to rush out and buy it. Will keep the 06 for a bit longer

Performance sounds good but not so the looks
I seen this bike in person at the Toronto bike show and I have to say it does look cool until you see the muffler and then walk around the front, this thing definitly looks cross eyed, it just doesn't do it for me.........we all know what we like performance wise and I'm sure it will kick ass........but.......we also know that the #1 rule of biking is looking good while doing it.......I'm sticking with the '07 ZX10R I have already........I am just going to do major performance upgrades instead.
I also think the '08 looks like a 600, too small looking.

I'm not a big fan of the looks either.... Sadly it was named in Maxim mag. as the best chick magnet.
