Hybrid Yosh

Hi yall, I just managed to fanagle a Yosh TRC CF slip on from my old bike (09 ZX14) onto my new 08 10R. It was not for the faint at heart for sure, I had to cut length off of the slip on but all in all after the initial leap of faith it went very well. THe angles on the pipe were near exact and with a little encouragement was on the money. I took the OEM exhaust gasket and bored it out to accept the new diameter of pipe. (few mm larger). All I have left to do is finish pulling the exhaust device cables and she is good to go. I will have to wait till tomorrow though, the wife wants some me time. But I will finish it up and get some pics first thing tomorrow. I already started her up and she sounds great and no light so far. So thats it for now.. just had to share my excitment. 2WW

Cool. I always like hearing about some money-saving ingenuity.

Thanks yall, I am all about the money savings too. Especially when I just bought that exhaust for a bike that was less than a year old when I decided to trade it. I could not justify buying another exhaust if I didnt have to (now if it wouldnt have worked that would have been another mater LOL). I am totally stoked about it.

I do have the other side if there is anyone else out there who is wanting to try this. I would say you are going to need to be craftier than me however as the yosh plaque would be upside down and would require removal and re-riveting. But I am willing to let it go for next to nothing. I will get those pics up tomorrow. Maybe I can finally figure youtube out too and get a sound clip. I wish I would have taken pics of the install as kind of a how to but I was in the heat of the moment and too excited to stop.

She is complete. Unfortunatley my wife is at work and I cant find a thing (except my tools) without her to include the camera . So I will get pics up when she gets home. I am also going to start a seperate thread with a how to on the exhaust device cables removal, as I looked extensively and never found a good step by step. It was pretty straight forward but I know I would have been more willing to do this had I had somthing to go off of. Thanks yall. 2WW

I just spent the last 45 minutes typing the cable removal write up and Got timed out on my account. Lost the write up. Will try again when I quit pulling my hair out.
