New 2010 design?
By any chance do you guys ever find websites that get insider info of a new design that I could see. I am really curious. I am a kawi guy and have always been. I have wanted a 10 since I started when I was 18. I am now 23 and will be considering the new 10r for my next bike. I know I seen photos of the new 6r about 5 months before had, but mostly because I think people just photo shopped a 10r front end on the existing model at the time. The reason I have waited so long for a 10r is insurance reasons mainly. It is just to expensive for people under 25. I have a 100 percent clean driving record with no accidents or tickets. It just does not seem to matter to the insurance company. My insurance company said they would move my discount up one year to 24 since I have a super clean record somebody my age. Any help would be appreciated! I want to turn my current bike into a track bike anyway. Its close to set-up for it, beside race fairings and some other odds and ends.
Thanks, jon

I haven't seen any yet, but I have my fingers crossed for something good. I mean, come on... it's the '10 ZX10! Tenten! I hope they're planning something more special than a flame job.

A lot of sites and magazines will start claiming they have leaked photos within the next couple of months. I've yet to see one that actually did. Unless you find some spy shots, you're gonna have to wait for the release. It's a lot easier to keep a newly redesigned bike under wraps.

I was just hoping they made it look better. It's already a powerhouse and a pretty great handler but I think it's ugly as hell. Doesn't really matter to me anyway...I won't be able to afford a new bike for years.

The big four have been pretty consistent with doing major upgrades on their 600cc and 1000cc sport bikes once every two years; both 6r and 10r were made over in '09, so I wouldn't expect anything new for 2010, except maybe very minor tweaks. On the other hand, you can still find '08 10r's new in dealers at steep discounts (compared to price of '09) that equal more than the cost of insuring one; something to think about unless you just have to have the absolute cutting edge.

Not quite: the 6R was redone in '09, the 10R in '08. The generations are staggered by one year between the two and have been for the last decade. Based on the timeline of the last three generations of 10R, it's due next year.

.... I happen to love the looks of my 08 i think it looks a hell of alot better than the other crap thats out there... flat nose hondas, and wide ass front end of the junk R1, and GSXRsquids are just all ugly...

Yeah, I'm not much of a fan of any of the new redesigns. It's nothing personal against you 08-09'ers....they're just not my taste. I like the flowing sleek look over the angular styles that have been coming out lately.
And it seems like the big 4 have some kinda contest going to see who can make the goofiest looking headlights. The R1 is in the lead for now...

You sure the new BMW supersport literbike isn't in on that contest? I was pretty sure they had it in the bag!

hey if that new BMW didn't have them gills It would look a whole lot better IMHO.. but I still like it the guages on its speedo are sweet and I guess they are claiming 179 HP prob at the crank but still not to bad.. Im waiting on the review in RRW next month I think its suppose to be in there.. Id take one if I had lots of money to spend...

The gixxer and R1 were redone in '09. I think it's more of a money thing for Kawasaki. The redesign completion can't be fit into the budget for 2010 even though Kawi is a very large corporation. The '08-'09 10R is such a good bike for my riding style. I really don't need any more power. I suppose the suspension could always be better. 10R OEM springs are borderline for a 220 lb. + rider. I can se a TTX shock and R&T forks in my future. The LOR will go for a full Akra. When I upgrade, you will be the 1st to know.

Maybe beemers are better now, but they have a bad rep as far as parts availability and reliability. A beemer auto is one thing. I can't see myself on the moto unless it is given to me.

I was gonna bring them up but then it wouldn't really be a contest.

yeah Im waiting to hear the reviews of it next month, in race trim though it looks really good and its doing a damn good job so far in WSBK esp for the first year on the track ... not as good as Ben on the R1 but thats 90%rider making that work... put Spies on any other brand and it will win races also... but If I had money to burn Id pick a BMW up...

Well it was nice to see all these replies. It does seem like kawi may wait 1 more year for a change. It is a shame, but I could easily see why kawi would hold off for a year given the current economic situation. Jbear is right though, they did stagger the 6r, and the 10r 1 yr with changes every two years to each model. I may just go for a left over like I did with my current bike. I save over 2grand on my bike just cause I bought it in December of 2007.
