2008 zx10r - power prob
I just bought the brand new 2008 ZX10R. Following break in period, I got frustrated to realise my bike was less powerful than an old beatup 04 R1... decided to change bikes and race the guy again and won using his R1... So it is definitely coming from the bike no the racer... any input in fixing this is greatly appreciated... are these bikes restricted...

Maybe he let you win on his old beat up R1?

LOL... that'd be a helluva good joke right there!
Since I have absolutely nothing productive to add, I'm going to blame your power problem on the ridiculous new mirror design.

thanks
thanks guys for the very helpful thought.
Could it have to do with the fact that the bike comes from Europe (I live in Casablanca) can this be some restriction problem with european stuff...?

I wouldn't think so. At least with cars, the EDM models tend to be faster than their USDM counterparts. I think it's more based on safety than emissions though, so I don't know how that would affect bikes. Regardless, we usually get the watered down versions of everything, so I'd be surprised.

I think a full inspection of the bike is in order because you obviously have something goning on with the bike. Or like previously stated, the bike may be restricted in some way. Either way, I'd look into it. There should be no reason for loosing to an 04 R1 unless it's rider mod. <--- Which we know it's not.
Oh by the way, this is my first post..... I'm really enjoying the reading. Hi all.

hi Havok10r and welcome to the forum.
unfortunately, there is not real certified mechanic in my area that can look at it. (I am in north africa) i also noticed the bike is mainly weaker than other street bikes in low RPMs. On the higher RPMs, nothing to blame the bike for...

Well, a TRE might help you then.

What he said. Essentially, it wakes up the low end from 1-5K.
