can i boost 10lbs on stock motor?

My zx10 has a muzzy turbo kit it only puts out 207hp at the tires, they advertise 233hp. I saw velocitys puts out 255hp. how is that? Can i up the boost with custom mapping?

I dont claim to know much about turbos, but from what i hear, its 90% engine work 10% actual turbo. The amount of work that needs to be done for the bike to safely handle the extra boost is the tough part, so be careful you dont blow an engine if you do go with an extra 10 lbs.

ONLY 207

truly what I know about turbos has to do w/ my own experience and that's w/ cars... 10lbs is just a number...it may be possible to run 20lbs...that's bc it all depends on how much room to tune is already there...you won't know until you stick it on the dyno...what I DO know is that w/ high compression and boost you have VERY little margin for error..so you'll need a GREAT tuner ...I don't know much about your setup but fuel and heat are your biggest enemy...I dunno what your turbo is effcient at so couldn't tell you if 10lbs is doing anything for you ...bottom line is that you won't know until you get a few pulls and find out where you are at as far as a/f ratio.. and how much more fuel you can shove in there and at what point your turbo starts maxing out...I've seen people pull 600hp+ out of stock 4 cylinders ...so again, put it on the dyno find out what you have to work w/ from a person who's job it is to tune turbo bikes..

the suz will not do 255 hp on 7lb of boost, My zx10 made 200 hp on a modest dyno at 5lbs of boost. The stock motor will handle safely 8 lbs. That's on good gas.

With dyno's look at the before number vs the after number. If you plan on going turbo, contact Jones Motorsports in Chiefland, FL. The muzzy kit is a good kit; the rule is 10 hp per 1lb of boost.

Remember before hp and after hp.

Too much boost

Thanks for the feed back on the question, I feel the same only 207! I'm rebuilding the motor to the hill so i can put more boost but in the mean time i was going to experiment. If the motor goes o'well its already getting built but I will let you guys know the results when i up the boost to 10Lbs. and on what u were saying about the fuel as long as your not too lean and not getting to hot your in the good, i was under the same impression
