ZX10 Wheel Change

Can someone tell me how long they think it will take to swap out rear wheels on my 04' ZX10? I have almost assembled a completely separate rear wheel with a slick on it for the track and am just curious as to how long it will take to switch it. Thanks -

Just did it last night took me about 20 minutes but i had help. Put something like a 2x4 under the tire (while on a rearstand) to keep the tire at axel height, that helps. loosen the chain a lot, and then when you put the tire in you hold it in place while a buddy puts in the axel... a rubber mallet makes this easy just dont overdo it. Took my friend shaun 3 hours to do it by himself, and 20 min last night with me and one other. The more you do it the easier it becomes but its a bitch at first...

the exchange

I am going to have to get a manual on the removal process.. I have never actually seen one removed, the 2x4 sounds like a great idea though! That way you are not constantly fighting the weight of it.. Thanks!

are you talking about the rim and everything. It only takes my about 10 to 15 mins max. but i have also taken it off about ten time so far. i have about five friends that all have the same bike. i think for the 06 07 years we have every color kawi made except for the ivory one lol. the only trick i can say that helps to do it yourself is the caliber mount only put it on the lip that holds it to the swing arm barely. i mean only out it on so it barely hangs there. so when you lift the rim it will be easier to slide the rim in place. the first time like everything is the hardest.

a little trick that works for me when reinstalling:

i use a 6" long one half inch drive socket extension as kind of a pilot bearing alignment tool. I start the axle in one side and push the socket extension in the other side. It lines everything up so it's easier to push the axle all the way through.

You don't have to loosen the chain adjusters at all. At least i don't.

takes about 5 minutes to take off. (2xs wood under the tire)
takes less than 10 minutes to reinstall if you haven't loosened the chain adjusters. make sure you torque the castle nut.

the 1st time it took me an hour.
