Unhappy Crap... this doesn't look so good

Noticed some fluid on my right boot this afternoon after riding, looks/smells/tastes like oil. Not a lot of it, just a bit. So, I dropped the bellypan and checked it out. Looks like some cast cover was damaged when the bike was knocked over (before I bought it) and instead of replacing it it looks patched, like with JBWeld or something. Anyway, everything below it is pretty mucky, hard to tell where it's coming from but that looks like a good bet. Of course I have no idea what I'm looking at, so I'm hoping some of you can give me a kick in the right direction. Not sure I took the right pics, but This was the wet stuff:

Doesn't look too bad, should I be worried? I have an appointment at the local shop to have it looked over on the 21st, hopefully it holds together till then. It runs a little rough off the line, like under 3K in 1st, and I can't tell if somethings wrong or if they just aren't intended to go that slow- LOL. Otherwise it runs like a champ.

well they do have an ignition timing retardation under 5k... could be it. Just watch your oil level like a hawk...

gunk it and get all that oil off there, let it dry and fire it up and find out where the oil is coming from, may be a simple gasket replacement or that Polish patch job the cheap fuck previous owner put on there

Yeah, I think I know why he did though- I haven't found that exact cover yet, but the ones I have found (clutch cover, starter cover, etc) are all effin expensive! Well over $100 each. I think I will clean it good and see if I can see where it's coming from though.

$100 Is Not Bad Considering Your Bikes Engine Will Cost You Close To 3 Grand If You Run It Without Oil.. :)

True, true. Just seems like a lot for a four inch chunk of cast aluminum.

I still don't know that's where it's coming from either, it just looks like a likely culprit. I hope that's it, because it'll give me an excuse to change it... that patch is just fugly.

Actually turned out not so bad. I ordered one today from my Kawi dealer, just over sixty bucks. Still rape, but it was half what I was expecting.
