my ride needs a screen
hows it goin guys?, thought id throw a pic up of my 10. (big thanks to bean's post back in july). she's pretty much bone stock, except for the rear seat cowl and rim stripes. oh, and the tank pad, wow it sure goes fast now!! pfffft lol
im thinking of ordering a sportech v flow screen in black chrome. i know they have had problems with melting/warping the gauge surrounds, due to a "magnifying glass" related issue, but i think thats been rectified. anyone had any problems? i really want the black chrome, i love the green/ black scheme, of my bike, and want to stick with it. being in australia, and as we only account for 5% of new bike sales, prices for aftermarket bling are ridiculous. 'll be ordering it from the states. they want near $200aud here in oz and it looks like only around $80usd + post from you guys. need i say more? i use ebay alot, but havent been able to track what i want down. im interested in hearing what you guys think.

Blue, where'd you get the eye lights? I'm going to go with HIDs soon and if I have the bike open to install those, I might as well do something awesome like you've got.

I brought my screen not long ago but for the life of me cant remember where I got it from! Italy I think but thats about all I can remember but I did pay $130 including shipping whih was good.
I have had no problems with the heat at all and I just completed a 15k ride through far north QLD and NT and SAin the middle of summer so as you could guess the desert get bloody hot! mine is silver to match the silver flames but I do remember them having bblack chrome!

Yeah you really can't see thru it but even when I'm tucked down I still look just over it so it no big deal more of a deflector than see thru windshield. Sucks about the demerit system sounds like they treat you like grade school bikers.
Hows the ridin weather over there now it's about 10 to 20F average here lately just started the bike to hear it run in the garage

Hey Zx I don't know how the HIDS fit in so I don't know if they would interfere with each other but I doubt it. They come from Cleggs innovations but you probably saw that in the previous post I made so I'll just shut up now.
The rumored new angel eyes are supposed to be a little brighter but I don't think it will make much difference in the day anyway and when you run the brights it drowns out the eyes but there just for effect and they look good with the dims on so

hey blue, yeah they do treat us like kide sometimes, but, then i act like a kid too.....sometimes!. a 38 year old kid mind you!!!! lol that darn spring loaded wrist of mine!!! weathers been ok, a couple wet ones, but the temps been in the high 20's. celsius that is, around 80+ for you. havent been riding lately, away from home and something to do with a suspended license. which has something to do with that 38 year old kid thing. i ended up getting a solid black screen, yep u were right, you dont need to see thru it. it matches the rest of the bike, so im happy. now it looks like all the other green ones out there! im thinking of getting some graphics for it to break up the green, but thats another thread. stay upright.

The black screen looks sharp demon. I am the other way on the graphics I like to keep it clean I like to see the lines of the bike the 10 is very sharp I think it looks great free of corporate badging and progaganda. But sounds like you'll be doing a lot of lookin at it rather than riding it

ill only be "looking at it" for another 8 days, then ill be back, not long now! thats been the longest 6 months ever. and i got the new 07 10r bout 2-3 months ago. so...... i havent ridden it at all....honest and yeah i can appreciate what youre saying bout the clean lines, totally. im still really undecided at this point in time. im flip flopping but thanks for you comments
and jester, that books sure to be a best seller, i know when i rode up to brisbane from adelaide, in 2 x 12hour stints 8 years ago,on my gsx750f (shhhhh yeah, its a suzi) i couldve used some of your well earnt wisdom then! man it was uncomfortable, especially at the 9/10 hour mark. i can only imagine what itd be like on a 10r.

lol yeah yeah...sure sure
good luck on the first ride day!
as I said before I did it all on my 10r http://www.zxforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9506
it was full of some long days (1100km's was the most in one day) but for the most of it we tried to do around 600-700km's in a day to make the amount of violation and pain on arse less intense.
let us know after your first day. cant wait to here about it and if you still manage to keep your licence after that!
