Smile Pics of my new ride, 2008 Kawasaki ZX14

I took these about a half an hour ago. This is the first one without waking up the neighbors.

I can see with the headlights. Full power 2x55 watt for the lows. Hit the high beams and the 2x65 watt lights come on also! Total of four. The bike has a kick ass generator and can run these at idle with my electric suit without discharging the battery.

The business end. Built in catalytic converters in each pipe, so I won't gag riders behind me. I'm told the 1400cc engine puts out around 200 horsepower and around 180 at the wheel.

Fancy rotors and wheels. All standard equipment. They look real good in the daytime.

The paint looks black from a distance, but is actually a blue metalic. The plastics are strong and quite resilient.

Induction.

Old fashioned analogue gages and the computer display shows fun facts about the performance, such as gear selection, mileage, how many miles left in the tank, etc... I'd like to hack the screen for a dvd player or something...

Thank you!

Daytime pics:

Big brakes

Business end. Yes, that's my license plate. Anyone on the road can see it too.

The exhaust is in high fidelity stereo and sounds wonderful. This is the smoothest engine I have felt.

The view a bird gets.

Massive brakes

Got back from a ride in the country. I discovered the bike is indeed heavier. The suspension would bottom out on the same bumps and curbs my cbr1000rr would fly over. I also felt the suspension run out of room much quicker at higher speeds. It averaged about 37mpg on the highway and 32mpg in the city. The wind was much less noticeable on this bike and keeping within the speed limit was difficult. 85 seemed like 55. At about 150 miles, the computer displayed I had 40 miles left and gave me a low fuel warning. I filled it up with 5 gallons.
